Rather unusual 19th century boar’s tusk netsuke engraved with temple buildings among trees. I believe it depicts the Ishiyama Temple of the Shingon Buddhist sect in Ōtsu (Shiga Prefecture), the thirteenth temple of the Kansai Kannon Pilgrimage, and the one where Lady Murasaki began writing The Tale of Genji on a full moon night in August 1004.
