American Classical sterling silver compote. Made by Gorham in Providence in 1876. Bellied bowl with leaf-mounted c-scroll side handles and knopped stem flowing into round and raised foot. Low-relief ornament on stippled ground. Bowl has wraparound frieze with garlands, leafing volute scrolls, and leaf-ornamented columns between tête à tête gryphons. On foot rim is a garland held up by dancing putti. Bowl interior gilt.

Victorian Classical sterling silver baby cup. Made by Gorham in Providence in 1888. Straight sides and lobed bracket handle with reeded bands. Stylized ornament: Scrolled frame surrounded by scrolls, leaves, flowers, and a couple hovering insects. Butler finish. Mouth rim has egg-and-dart border. At bottom cast low-relief rinceaux band between reeded borders. Gilt-washed interior. Interlaced script monogram. Full marked including maker’s stamp, date symbol, and no. 3875. Very good condition.

Pointed ovoid terminal with stylized leaf and scroll ornament mounted to round stem with reeded bands set in leaf mount; bowl round and gilt with ornamental piercing and pointed spout. Edwardian Classical sterling silver vanity pair. Made by Gorham in Providence, ca 1900. This pair comprises hand mirror and hairbrush. Mirror has round scalloped frame and the brush has shaped oval frame. Embossed ornament with chubby, naked cherubs frolicking with a dolphin (mirror) and holding overhead a fruit basket (brush). Scroll and flower borders with masks. Frothy and frivolous. Fully marked including maker’s stamp and nos. C475 (mirror) and C1502 (brush). Very good condition.
