A very rare well-potted and painted 8.25" Ko-Imari model of a standing boy reaching into an urn. The boy's face is painted with black hair and features a gilt head band. Both his robe and the urn are painted in blue, orange and iron red.
Condition: Excellent, with no chips, hairlines or repairs.
Purchased through Christie's a good number of years ago, this is a very rare Ko-Imari porcelain figure circa 1640. Decorated in iron-red, green, gold and black enamel, the seated official measures 7.5"x6"x2".

An 18th Century Japanese porcelain scalloped serving bowl, with lid, decorated with the Imari colors of red, blue, white, cream, and gold. The tureen measures about 9 1/4" long x 6 1/2" wide x 7" tall. The Shippo design family crest has been applied in gold on the blue panels. The finial is modeled as a sixteen pedal chrysanthemum blossom. The condition is excellent, with some wear to gold highlights. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.

This very rare and unusual pottery model of a seated dragon was made during the 13th - 14th centuries, during either the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279) or the following Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368), and comes from Yunnan province. It is made from a grey pottery and is finely-detailed. It has been cold-painted with base coat of a creamy-white pigment with faint traces remaining of orange and red pigments on top.
