This unusual porcelain vase was made during the Kangxi reign (1662 to 1722) of the Qing Dynasty. It comprises various rectangular sections and is profusely decorated with precious objects, flower blossoms and landscape scenes. It comes with an old tailor-made wooden (mahogany?) stand.

The outer surface remains undecorated whereas the inner surface is particularly elaborately decorated. In the centre is a standing bird, most likely a crane (a symbol of longevity), together with various plants and blossoms.
