A fine Arita blue & white porcelain flower vase to be mounted on a wall, kakehana. 18th century.

The flower vase is heavily moulded with a leaping Chinese Lion or karashishi in a landscape of rocks and Tree Peonies, a classic subject in Japanese art known as “Botan-ni-Shishi”, an auspicious subject.

This old kakehana was manufactured in Arita in the mid Edo period, probably for the home market.

Large Chinese famille rose porcelain bowl; features rural and river scenes; rings like a bell; 18th century; good condition

19C Chinese Imperial Famille Rose Porcelain Snuff Bottle Xianfeng Mark and Period The bottle is decorated with medallions of various floral, foliate and geometric designs. The base is inscribed with a four-character seal mark. Xianfeng seal mark and of the period. It comes with a silver stopper with turquoise adornment. Size: 6.8 cm tall, 5.3 cm wide, 3 cm thick. Condition: Good condition considering its age.

An 18th Century Japanese porcelain scalloped serving bowl, with lid, decorated with the Imari colors of red, blue, white, cream, and gold. The tureen measures about 9 1/4" long x 6 1/2" wide x 7" tall. The Shippo design family crest has been applied in gold on the blue panels. The finial is modeled as a sixteen pedal chrysanthemum blossom. The condition is excellent, with some wear to gold highlights. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.

A rare 18th/19th Century carved agate snuff bottle with, possibly later, silver and rose quartz stopper. On the stopper is inscribed the Shanghai silversmiths "Wen Yuan" who are recorded as having traded from the Jiaqing (1796-1820) reign through until the Republic period (1912- 1949). Condition - excellent - there is a shallow chip on top, next to the mouth (please view enlargement 11) no further damages and no restoration. 5cm (2inches) high; 4.8cm (1.9 inches) wide.

This vase is painted in green, yellow, turquoise and black enamel on a pale aubergine background, depicting various dignitary figures in a garden setting. The interior is fully glazed white, having some minor pitting and small iron specks in the glaze. The base is unglazed with areas of light orange re-oxidation from the firing, and the fine white paste is visible around the perimeter. A Large and Impressive Hand Painted Dutch Delft Vase. Eight reserves; four large ones of a bird and four lesser ones of a stag. Label on the base says "De Oude Moriaans Hoult (The Old Moors Head) Holland Delft (the mark) 1759". This refers to the potters mark, which was first used in 1759 (the Old Moors Head dates from 1648).
