Japanese Sake cup - Hagi ware with box - Beautiful blue glaze work of Seigan Yamane. The cup has the maker's signature mark stamped on the bottom. Height: 2.0" (5 cm). Diameter: aprox 2.5" (6.5 cm). Condition: The cup has a chip in the edge cover by the glaze, apparently made during the manufacturing process (please, see photos).

This piece is made of copper glaze called "oribe". At first , it is covered with feldspar and painted with iron and next it is covered with copper glaze. It is firing into burning charcoal in the kiln, so there are complicated atmosphere, oxidation and reduction. The oxidation atmosphere makes the copper glaze red, the reduction atmosphere makes it green and the mixture atmosphere makes complicated color. These bottles are decorated in underglaze cobalt blue and colored enamels with a design of various painted fans floating on an iron red enamel ground that is covered with gilt spirals. A wonderfully designed and crafted pair of hanging pave diamond earrings, set with 300 full-cut diamonds, with the approximate total weight of 3.25Ct. The top of the earrings are round half domes with a post in the back. The elongated tear drop shaped bottom parts move, and give the diamonds even more sparkle.
