Small kogo, incense box, in the shape of a crab in rest. Grayish brown grainy earthenware, much like Raku, with red glaze and with patches of green and white glaze. The eyes are accentuated with gold, as is a small area on it’s back.

Purchased through Christie's a good number of years ago, this is a very rare Ko-Imari porcelain figure circa 1640. Decorated in iron-red, green, gold and black enamel, the seated official measures 7.5"x6"x2".

Condition: Excellent, with only minor wear to enamel and one almost undetectibly small old chip to the edge of the base.

This jaw dropping necklace was designed by contemporary designer jeweler, Robert Sorrell. Mr. Sorrell's pieces have been featured in the runway collections of Thierry Mugler, as well as in a number of theater productions including Cirque de Soleil. The necklace measures 17" long x 5" wide and has a removable panel that adds 2 3/4" in length. The set has ombre crystals from clear to red and it is signed "Sorrell Originals" on the reverse. It is in excellent condition.

This piece is made of copper glaze called "oribe". At first , it is covered with feldspar and painted with iron and next it is covered with copper glaze. It is firing into burning charcoal in the kiln, so there are complicated atmosphere, oxidation and reduction.
