This is a very fine unsigned Japanese cloisonne vase with a unique form. The enamel and wire work are exquisite. It is not signed but the quality is so good and so unique that the maker is Hayashi. Look at the last image of a signed 3 3/4 inch vase and compare them. The work on this vase is not only similar, the gold wire birds, unique spider mums and leaves on this vase are even smaller in size. There is also another sold Hayashi vase (#1352365) on my sight with similar spider mums and also wi...

This is a very fine pair of Japanese satsuma vases that stand just 4 1/4 inches tall. Attractive form, enamel colors and very fine details. They look like they have spent most of their lives stored in the box. One has the original sticker and both are signed. The signature looks a bit like the Kozan mark but we are not sure. Some of the larger flowers remind us of work seen on Bizan and Yabu pieces.

Fine Japanese Arita Imari Wucai Dish c.1700. # 1 An attractively decorated dish styled after late Ming wucai enamelled wares, noted for their bold and vivid colouring. A meandering vine with various flowers surround a central kotobuki or good luck character. The back is decorated with various lingzhi motifs and within the foot-rim is a apocryphal Chinese Ming reign mark for Jiajing.

This is a very fine and unusual Japanese Satsuma vase with relief figures. The work on this piece is highly detailed and the gold thickly applied. The Dragon and clouds are decorated with silver. The piece is in very good condition will minor wear. The Artist signature is the most worn area on the piece. With magnification it can be seen that it is signed Fuzan but it is very hard to make out. I have included a similar Fuzan mark for comparison. The vase stands 8 1/2 inches tall.

Momoyama Gallery
$1800.00

Have you ever seen a shuro made of Shino-yaki from the Momoyama-Period? Try to hunt for it on the antique market, it is very rare. Also on trocadero you will not find one except ours. This is for the deep lovers of ancient Japanese Culture and art.

In the days of traditional Japanese wooden buildings keeping warm must have been a constant preoccupation. Hand warmers like the present example were small hibachi which would have a layer of sand on which charcoal would be burned to enab...

Cranes and pine trees are considered sacred in Japanese culture. They symbolize longevity and the everlasting devotion of a couple. The color of pine tree is evergreen and when the needles finally fall to the ground, each falls as a pair.

This is a peaceful but powerful scene, symbolizing the prosperity over a happy, united family. Each of the cranes was executed beautifully by the artist. The artist, who obviously spent whatever he could offer, signed on both vases.

The glaze on the...

An exquisite and very fine 18K yellow gold jewel by Henry Dunay, one of the greatest American jewelers of the latter 20th century. The piece comprises a 32" necklace of domed, oval gold links joined by polished arched connectors. Two of the links have hidden hinged clasps so that the necklace can be separated into a shorter necklace and a bracelet. Two of the arched conn...
