Antique marquise shaped 18K gold and chrysoberyl ring is an excellent example of Portuguese jewelry of the late 18th century. The Portuguese mined these gemstones from their colony in Brazil and created jewelry that was typically pave-set as seen here. The ring is size 10 and can be sized to fit.

Interesting vintage pair of 14K yellow gold cufflinks, the faces set with detailed medallions depicting a Native American above black onyx plaques. The edges are finished in a classic ropetwist motif. The backs are marked "14K."

Origin: America, ca. 1950. Condition: very good, sharp detail; the toggle mechanism on one link is slightly bent, but does not affect functionality and is not visible when being worn. Size: 15/16" diameter. Weight: 20.25 grams.

This unusual massive cuff bracelet has a large spinach green and yellow striated raised agate. Very three dimensional.

Great hallmarked art deco 14K Gold ring with two rows of small, faceted, sparkly diamonds: one row on each side lining a tall black onyx cone. Probably European. 18 diamonds in all. It is a size eight, but could be resized by a jeweler. Is stands over 3/8", or 11mm, tall above the finger. Marked "MG, 14K, 585, 4." Excellent vintage condition.

A square Chinese cloisonne enamel gau box with four arched apertures and gold gilt strap loops for personal carrying. Richly decorated on a yellow ground with designs of formal lotus and foliage, the top side panel has a dark blue fylfot. The back panel, with the large red Shou-type character, slides up to open. Made for the Tibetan market, this dates early to mid 19th century, but could possibly be late 18th. Measures 3.35 inches high, 3" across, 1" deep.

A large and very expressive, ceramic figure of sitting shishi, lion-dog, with turned head. It is covered in a creamy, white crackled glaze. The open, staring eyes made of inserted glass are rendered with gold. Unsigned. Japan, late Edo, before 1850. H. 35 cm, L. 25 cm, W. 16 cm. This dramatic Big Red—a name Daniel Tretiak attached to Haku Maki’s large red prints, usually of single Chinese characters (kanji) on black backgrounds—is a character meaning ordinary or commonplace. But Maki has done it in a stand-out way. It is 17.5in W x 24.5inH.
