One of the largest tablet or brick seals, we've ever offered. Bifacial tablet seals can normally be dated to around the 3rd. millenium BC. This is so delicately carved that it could be made somewhat later in the 2nd. mill. BC.

The black serpentine seal depicts a large Bee, filling the whole of the seal, and on the other side a Scorpion. Particularly, the Bee is masterfully engraved, so that even tiny details and textures of the bee can be seen. Absolutely stunning.

This interesting pottery jar was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279), or possibly the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368) and has been been excavated from a Buddhist site in Yunnan province. A great, 950 sterling silver cuff bracelet by Haroldo Burle Marx with a large bezel set 'Forma Livre' opaque black carved stone.

Marked 950 and BURLE MARX on the inside. Measures 6 3/4" around with an opening of 1 1/4". Measures 1" at the widest. Weighs 104 gr.

Fine condition. There are some minor surface scratches to the finish. There is a slight separation at the underside of the bezel but the stone is stable.
