Fine Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted White Pottery Warrior
This fine pottery figure of a warrior, or soldier, was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). The majority of similar Tang figures are made from a lower-fired reddish pottery whereas this particular example is made from the more desirable "white" pottery. It is "heavily-potted" and relatively highly-fired, having a distinct "ring" to it when tapped, and the pottery has fired to a pale creamy-pink colour. It has been "cold painted"...

This fine example measures 1-7/8 x 15/16", it has a baroque pearl drop and a pink tourmalin...
