Turn-of-the-century sterling silver open salt and pepper shaker. Made by Gorham in Providence. Salt: Round and tapering bowl with turned-down rim and raised foot. Interior gilt washed. Pepper: Baluster with pierced conical top and raised foot. Neck has subtle twisted fluting. French-style Classical ornament with leaf-and-dart and imbricated leaf-and-berry borders as well as reeding, fluting, and floral garlands.
