The latest original regional marsh landscape painting by this painter. A dramatic deep red and blue marsh with a distant luminous sliver of sky in buttery yellow was painted with a very limited palette of three pigments plus white, following a more "Modernist" feel to this while the other recently painted "Marsh Moment" - # 1340185 - using the same limited palette may have more of a traditional regional appeal. Japanese limited edition sosaku hanga woodblock print titled "Yakushi Temple at Hino” by Shiro Kasamatsu (1898-1991) dated 1961. The print is pencil signed at the bottom margin. A large rosewood, huanghuali brush pot, bitong of simple cylindrical form with thick walls and the base with an inset plug. The wood grain has particularly nice patterns, with a few 'ghost eyes', and a wonderful deep honey-brown patina. H 16 x 16,4 cm Diameter Late Ming/ early Qing Dynasty. An 18th Century Japanese porcelain scalloped serving bowl, with lid, decorated with the Imari colors of red, blue, white, cream, and gold. The tureen measures about 9 1/4" long x 6 1/2" wide x 7" tall. The Shippo design family crest has been applied in gold on the blue panels. The finial is modeled as a sixteen pedal chrysanthemum blossom. The condition is excellent, with some wear to gold highlights. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.

Early 20th Century rose quartz carving of 2 beauties. Made of one piece, it is difficult to find a double figure carving like this. Presented on a custom rosewood stand, this rose quartz carving has really nice details that we were not able to fully capture with a camera. It is much nicer in person and you won't be disappointed. In excellent condition, it measures on stand 10-1/2" high x 5" wide x 2". Carving alone measures 9-1/8" high.
