For sale here is a lovely vintage 1950s 60s original signed Chinese watercolor painting on silk of a young woman with fan in a garden. The silk painting has been laid down on paper with silk borders as shown. Measures 18-1/2" by 16" at outer edges, and the image area measures 14-1/4" by 11-3/4". Marked at upper right as shown in Chinese characters with red stamp beneath. This painting has never been framed. Beautiful Chinese scroll painting of three koi fish swimming underneath a patch of lotuses. Very bright coloration used with bold contrast. Vibrant natural colors. Great movement and fine attention to detail. Signature and chop of Zhao Dao Ang (1905-1998).

Chinese export silver mug, ca 1850. Straight and upward tapering sides applied with leafing bamboo on stippled ground. Branch-form handle and rims. Applied rondel engraved with single-letter monogram in buckled belt. On underside is engraved “H. J. T. / 1855”. Interior gilt washed. Chinese mark and initials KHC for Khe Cheong, a Canton silversmith and retailer active from ca 1830s-70s. Very good condition.
