A wonderful European School painting, possibly Italian, of the prophet St. Francis of Paolo, late 17th or early 18th century depicting the cannonized hermit inspired and looking back over his shoulder. A possible artist signature or title in pencil on back.

Condition: commensurate with age having some scattered paint loss throughout to surface, a pinhole and a 3/8 inch tear to lower half. Otherwise untouched original condition with no conservation undertaken...
Set of 3 Italian serving pieces in gilt brass and enamel, ca. 1860. This set comprises a spoon, fork, and knife. The handles are straight and tapering with knops and enameled Grotesque ornament on white ground. The spoon has a shaped bowl. The fork has shaped shank and four tines. The knife has a curvilinear blade. The spoon and knife have figural mounts. A beautiful set that reflects the Victorian interest in Renaissance Italy. Excellent condition with good color. Edwardian Regency sterling silver dinner plate. Made by Graff, Washbourne & Dunn in New York, ca 1909. Deep and round well bordered by scrolls, leaves, and flowers; center vacant. Shoulder has tubular piercing overlaid with swags, and open heraldic shields inset with flowers. Rim scrolled. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, patent year 1909, and no. 2925/47. Very good condition.
