A Chinese jade vase, carved as a lotus leaf with a flower in one corner and a ribbon tying the leaf and its coiled trailing stalk forming the base. The composition is very attractive, the body is quite thinly carved and the stone is of celadon hue. A high quality example of Qing lapidary arts, it measures 14 cm ( 5 1/2 inches) high. Early 20th Century rose quartz carving of 2 beauties. Made of one piece, it is difficult to find a double figure carving like this. Presented on a custom rosewood stand, this rose quartz carving has really nice details that we were not able to fully capture with a camera. It is much nicer in person and you won't be disappointed. In excellent condition, it measures on stand 10-1/2" high x 5" wide x 2". Carving alone measures 9-1/8" high.

Chinese Scholar’s two-tier solid rosewood stand with carved boxwood edges. Produced in the 1950s, this is actually a copy of a 17th - early 18th century style that was made of zitan and edged in boxwood. A strong stand that will hold your heaviest object, the pieces were machine made with rough carvings, hand assembled (pegged and glued), and then hand finished and polished. A rare finely carved cylindrical bamboo incense box depicting Scholars amongst rocks and pine trees in a mountain landscape. This item was made in China in the late Qing period - the characters carved into the top read "Qing Guangxu Nian Zhi" which translates as "Made in the Guangxu reign Qing dynasty" (1875-1908). Condition - one 2cm age related crack at the top - otherwise excellent with no damages or losses and no repairs or restoration. 22.7cm (8.8inches) high.
