For sale here is an exquisite vintage 1950s 60s signed hand painted Pine Blossom design Japanese lacquer box. Gorgeous hand painted design signed by the artist on the upper section of the box! The rest of the box has a faceted appearance from the artistry of the application of the lacquer over what I am guessing is a resin foundation. Measures 6-3/4" diameter by 3-1/4" tall at the edges. Fine Japanese silver and enamel saki pot, ca 1890. Ovoid body on raised and scalloped foot. Bamboo-style vertical spout; capped and high-looping handle same. Front and back have chased irises heightened with enamel in eddying water. Front further embellished with crane and blossoming branch. Cover domed; top double-walled and pierced with chrysanthemum flower heads of which some enameled, and ornamented enamel ball finial. Japanese marks and initials “V.M.” Very good condition.
