A Chinese Bronze Censer figure of buffalo and the figurine, Qing Dynasty. The figure of buffalo length approximately 12.6 cm and height approximately 7 cm. This appliqué Mahakala mask was one of four decorating a ritual dancer’s cloud collar. The background silk used is a very fragile silver thread brocade possibly dating from the 13th century. This would account for the cloud collar having become fragmentary.
