"How to Write and Speak Effective English", by Edward Frank Allen. Published 1938 by World Syndicate Publishing Co. Hardback. 329 pages, no dust jacket. Good condition; would be very good for a book this age if not for some scribbling on the endpapers. Lovers of language can glimpse what has and has not changed in English usage over the past 70 years from this volume. An interesting sample of Depression-era writing.

The painting is done in a flowing, Impressionist style, with a masterful use of quick, loose brushstrokes and much natural light, which contributes to this peaceful scene. The artist then focuses on careful attention to detail in her execution of the lone fisherman.

The primary colors utilized are a tonal range of yellows, blues and greens suggesting a spring or early summer day. The gentleman is ...

The black serpentine seal depicts a large Bee filling the whole of the seal, and on the other side Scorpion. Particularly the Bee is masterfully engraved so that even tiny details and textures of the bee can be seen. Absolutely stunning.
