Late 1800s

Shallow form with brilliant turquoise color. The cavetto is molded with thirty-two chrysanthemum petal-form flutes that appear convex on the back-side of the dish and encircle the flattened base. A “China” mark is needle-incised on the base. Very good condition. Acquired 25 years ago in North Carolina from an estate that was involved with the tobacco trade in China. It is rare for a large, delicate flat-rimmed dish, such as this one, to survive without damage.

This is a really great set of 'Little Hostess' Children's Party Play Dishes made by Hazel Atlas in the early 1950s. This sixteen piece set includes four 5 1/4 inch plates (2 pink and 2 black), four pink cups, four black saucers, a pink creamer, pink sugar and pink teapot bottom with black lid, in the original box. This lovely stem was produced by Morgantown Glass Company during the 1940's. These are called the 'Top Hat' cocktail because of the figural stem. Morgantown made these exclusively for the Knickerbocker Hotel in Chicago, and they were never offered for sale to the general public directly. Offered here are 6 Top Hat cocktails: 2 Topaz, 2 Smoke, 1 amethyst and 1 blue. All are in perfect condition. Price is per stem.

This figural glass lamp was produced by L.E. Smith Company during the 1940's - 50's. The color was fired on over clear glass, giving the opaque finish. This style is referred to as the 'Southern Belle' lamp. I have 2 available. Both have been re-wired so they work fine. The shade clips on the light bulb. The panache, verve, and energy of this striking wood carving of a Spanish conquistador is remarkable for its dynamism and expressiveness.
