A Steuben Venetian style topaz water set consisting of 4 tumblers and a 10 1/2 inch tall pitcher. The roemer style stemmed tumblers are 5 1/2 inches tall and have hollow stems decorated with celeste blue prunts and threading on the feet. Stippled Band was the first toy dish pattern produced by Akro Agate. The transparent topaz color pictured here was only made in 1935-6 and is very difficult to find. This vase is painted in green, yellow, turquoise and black enamel on a pale aubergine background, depicting various dignitary figures in a garden setting. The interior is fully glazed white, having some minor pitting and small iron specks in the glaze. The base is unglazed with areas of light orange re-oxidation from the firing, and the fine white paste is visible around the perimeter.
