A large and rare, early 19th C Gathering Basket from North Carolina of rectangle shape with 2 steamed and bent handles. In great condition, it is very tightly woven with a double wrapped rim. Basket is coated with cream colored paint, probably milk paint. Wood is unknown, possibly split oak. From the private collection of an appraiser of Early Americana. Measures 28" long, 16" wide, 12" high. Note: Basket depth measures 10", with handles 12".

This is a really great set of 'Little Hostess' Children's Party Play Dishes made by Hazel Atlas in the early 1950s. This sixteen piece set includes four 5 1/4 inch plates (2 pink and 2 black), four pink cups, four black saucers, a pink creamer, pink sugar and pink teapot bottom with black lid, in the original box. Japanese Kiri wood two(2) section Tansu, Kiri and Cedar chest on chest, Meiji period, before 1900, 42" high, 33" wide, 17" deep with 5 graduated size long drawers, and carved and engraved floral shape black iron back plates have different motif carvings, and black iron handles. Pine wood used in the back and split in some areas caused by dryness and old age, shows wear and tear in original condition, as found condition from Japan.

Japanese black lacquered on woven Bamboo Trunk, with red lacquered wooden frame on the bottom, Ca. 1920's, 14 1/2" high, 27 1/4" x 15 1/4" wide, two(2) black iron lock compartment on the side and large handles in front and back and corners are wrapped around with black iron. Wooden stretchers on the bottom to support for strength, blue rice paper lining inside the top and the bottom. Some black lacquer loses on the surface and corners are worn.

A Chinese silver vase with elaborate handles and decorated in repousse work with a phoenix on a hammered ground and the sides showing flowers and foliage, the back with a plain shield. Size: 23 cm high. weight ; 8 1/4 oz. two maker's stamps in Chinese characters on the base. It reads YUAN BEI which was an artisan workshop in Tianjin. Pair Korean Scholar's Book Chests, four(4) claws Korean Dragon and Phoenix Bird are battling in the flame, inlaid with Mother of Pearl, twisted Brass and faux tortoise shell, 41" high, 27" wide, 12 1/2" deep each in the background of dark brown lacquer with gold powder sparkling finish. Inlaid design of the wings of Phoenix Bird and Dragon are spread out into both sides, and the back is plain dark brown lacquer finish. A Royal Worcester two -handled vase measuring 6 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter. The vase is fully marked with Mark 1 with the date letter W for 1885 and with shape number 1109. There is also an impressed mark with shape 1109 The vase is decorated with three different floral sprays and is in excellent condition.

Japanese Cedar, Cyprus wood two(2) section Tansu, Ca. Meiji period 1890's, 42" high, 35 1/2" wide, 16 1/2" deep, 2 graduated size long drawers above 2 long drawers in lower section, total 4 long drawers. Old red lacquer on black iron back plates are still visible. Small hole on the lower left side of bottom frame. The condition is original as found condition.

Wonderful blue Cluthra M-handled vase standing 10 inches tall and 7 inches in diameter at its widest point. The vase is shape 8508 and is entirely mixed blue and white from top to bottom. It does not shade to white at the bottom. The bubbles in the Cluthra are small (1/4 inch diameter or less) and are well distributed. There is no damage to this unsigned vase.

Some of the small upper section black iron pieces are broken off and one top round black iron back plate has no crane design, maybe replaced later date some time ...

Beaded Block was produced by Imperial Glass Company from 1927 to about 1930. Pieces in this pattern are difficult to find and eagerly scooped up by collectors when they do surface. Beautiful Shusu (satin silk) Uchikake kimono from the Meiji period (1868 - 1912). All hand sewn with embroidery and gold couching work - overlaying of threads (real gold wrapped around thread) rather than going in and out of the base fabric.

The dimensions are 50 inches between from tip to tip of the sleeves, 60 inches long and 29 and half for the sleeve length. All the edges and openings are generously stuffed with raw silk. The photos shown here do not capture the true quality of this gow...

The vase stands 8 inches tall and is 4 inches in diameter at the top. the base tapers to 2 1/4 inches.

Antique Polish Baroque (17th-18th century Poland) bronze church hanging incense burner censer-thurible. The censer thurible is of baluster form with a pierced domed top and surmounted by a patriarchal cross with a double cross-bar.
