Set of 13 American Modern sterling silver place card holders, ca 1950. This set comprises 12 place card holders and 1 menu holder. Each: Cast figure of recumbent whippet with gracile limbs and imperious pointy head mounted to oval base with applied gadrooned rim. The place card holders have a ring clip and the menu holder has a heart clip. Mondaine novelties guaranteed to raise the tone of one’s dinner parties. Marked “UV [in circle] Sterling”. Set of 3 Modern sterling silver open salts. Made by Georg Jensen in Copenhagen. Each: Curved and shallow bowl with tapering and high-looping split-mounted handle with bead terminals. Fully marked including maker’s stamp and no. 110. Two have postwar maker’s stamp (1945-77) and one has maker’s stamp “Georg Jensen / Silversmiths Ltd” and letter E in lozenge. Very good condition. Italian Modern fantasy marine sterling silver centerpiece. Ovoid shell with second hemispheric shell set in back on ovoid seabed base. Naturalistic irregularities, striation, and accretions as well as a thriving crustacean community with crabs, snails, and conches not to mention fish and seahorses emmeshed in the kelp and grasses mounted to the back exterior. The creatures are aglow with gilding. Wild and exuberant. Marks include post-1967 maker's stamp for Mazzucato. Excellent condition.

Pair of Neoclassical-style gilt sterling silver tea urns. Each: Ovoid bowl on raised foot mounted to round base. Cover domed with knopped top terminating in bud finial. Swags and acanthus leaves as well as beading and leaf and dart. Fluted spout with carved leaf twist tap (one in black and one in white). Traditional vessels revved up with scaly and entwined snake handles. One marked “Sterling Silver” and the other marked “Sterling”. Very good condition with rich color.
