Overlay in open stylized pattern with leafing tendrils and interlaced and whiplash scrolls; heraldic cartouche engraved with interlaced script monogram. Glass is red. Silver has Gorham maker’s stamp and no. D942. Very good condition.

Each: Four capped and curvilinear arms each terminating in single faceted socket with same wax pan and baluster pendant. Arms mounted to tall and faceted baluster finial set in girdled and knopped baluster shaft on square, stepped, and chamfered foot. A stylish step back in time by a noted maker.

Turn-of-the-century Chinese export silver picture frame. Oval window in shaped surround with scrolls and flower heads at top, and leaves, stars, flowers, and heart cartouche vacant on stippled ground at bottom. With glass, silk lining, velvet back, and hinged easel silver wire support. Marked “Sterling”. Very good condition with deep patina.

Victorian sterling silver wine cooler. Deep ovoid bowl on raised foot. Leaf-capped dolphin scroll-bracket side handles. Bead-and-reel and leaf-and-dart borders. Chased frieze depicting garland-entwined, barefooted, long-tressed nymphs, their loose drapery suggestive of overflowing abundance. Fin-de-siecle Classicism for a new age.

This piece was two or three years old when it was exhibited at the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893.

Turn-of-the-century sterling silver baby set rich in period assumptions. Made by William B. Kerr in Newark. This set comprises cup, bowl, and plate.

Cup has acid-etched frieze depicting sailor-suited, flag-holding, all-American boy with exotic coevals in native dress relegated to background. Imagery enhanced with verse: “Little Indian, Sioux or Crow, little frosty Eskimo, little Turk or Japanese—Oh! Don’t you wish that you were me?”

Turn-of-the-century Art Nouveau glass vase with engraved silver overlay. Elongated baluster with flared rim and raised foot. Overlay in form of budding and blooming tulips with entwined and whiplash tendrils. On foot is scrolled cartouche engraved with scroll-letter C between the years 1880 and 1905. Glass is green. Royal Windsor sterling silver water pitcher. Made by Towle in Newburyport, Mass. Ovoid bowl with helmet mouth, flower-capped double scroll handle, and domed foot. Chased and scalloped frames (vacant) interspersed with pendant flowers. Shoulder and foot rim have alternating flower heads and volute scrolls with beaded border. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, no. 67420, and volume (“8 half pints”). Very good condition.
