Naturalistic irregularities, striation, and accretions as well as a thriving crustacean community with crabs, snails, and conches not to mention fish and seahorses emmeshed in the kelp and grasses mounted to the back exterior. The creatures are aglow with gilding. Wild and exuberant. Marks include post-1967 maker's stamp for Mazzucato. Excellent condition.

Globular bowl with foot ring, drum-form neck, lip spout, and c-scroll handle with engraved leaf-cap and bold scroll and leaf terminal. Repousse rinceaux band. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern no. 6462 (first produced in 1881), and director’s letter M (1873-91). Very good condition.

American Classical sterling silver compote. Made by Gorham in Providence in 1876. Bellied bowl with leaf-mounted c-scroll side handles and knopped stem flowing into round and raised foot. Low-relief ornament on stippled ground. Bowl has wraparound frieze with garlands, leafing volute scrolls, and leaf-ornamented columns between tête à tête gryphons. On foot rim is a garland held up by dancing putti. Bowl interior gilt.
