All Items : Vintage Arts : Decorative Art : Glass : American : Depression Glass : Pre 1940 item #385496 (stock #MG84)
This figural glass lamp was produced by L.E. Smith Company during the 1940's - 50's. The color was fired on over clear glass, giving the opaque finish. This style is referred to as the 'Southern Belle' lamp. I have 2 available. Both have been re-wired so they work fine. The shade clips on the light bulb. (Bulb not included, I recommend 25 or 40 watt bulbs so the glass doesn't get too hot.) Please specify which you'd like. All are in good shape.

A pair of large droplet shaped pendant lamps in cool green and blue murrines that resemble cells. Most likely an Ermanno Toso design from around 1960. The murrines are floating in a clear glass matrix on which they were gathered, heated, then blown. This style glass is also often called, Nerox, which is a version in a black glass matrix.

Each hanging fixture has a satiny acid matte finish, and is capped with a polished brass plate with loop for hanging. The brass plates appear to be original...

Over the years we have taken a special interest in Raku-ware and especially in works produced by the Tamamizu kiln, such as the 300+ year old ceremonial tea bowl seen here. The first in this line of potters was Yahē (1662 - 1722), an illegitimate son of Kichizaemon Ichinyu (1615 - 1768) who studied under his father and then left to open his own kiln in the village of Tamamizu (known today as Ide-cho). Though he is the first potter of this branch, he is sometimes referred to as Tamamizu VI, deno...
