A pair of unsigned 10 inch tall Steuben candlesticks. These candlesticks are shape 1617 as shown in the factory drawings illustrated in Gardner’s “The Glass of Frederick Carder.” These rarely seen candlesticks are a brilliant Celeste Blue with colorless double merses joining the stem and cup. Both the bases and the cups are ribbed and there is no damage to either of the pair.
Extremely Rare Poupee (doll) from the Louis Vuitton Toy Shop. Made from a type of plastic (possibly celluloid) with delicate hand painted features, dressed in a detailed regional costume of Bretagne (Brittany). The costume appears to be of a style found in the area around Pont Aven. The face of the doll is of a mature woman not a child. Such small size busshu with carving eye is quite a rare and also its carving is so delicate as the work of skilful 'busshi' (master sculptor of Buddhist images). Lack of forefinger as is.
