Horned serpents swim slack-jawed through the water. Talons and heads “puncture” the surface to form side handles. Cover has motoring scene: A Victorian lady and two gentlemen tootle along in a turn-of-the-century automobile. A sweet look back. Hallmark includes George V’s silver jubilee mark. An even later engraved presentation in the frame formed by the leafing, overhanging trees: “Palm Beach Golf Club / Florida / State Championship / 1916 / First Prize / Runner Up / Won By”. Turn-of-the-century Art Nouveau glass vase by historic maker Loetz with engraved silver overlay. Cylindrical with bellied top and bottom, and short inset neck. Overlay in form of open and horizontal pattern with stylized leaves and scrollwork. Glass is Titania pattern with shaded streaky green in vertical leaf arrangement. Silver marked “Sterling”.
