Fine Chinese carved natural salmon red coral figurine. The statue is in a form of Kwan Yin (Guan Yin) or depicting “Ma Gu Xian Shou (Magu Offers Longevity)”, with a basket of lucky flowers, delicately crafted from nonatural red coral. With an original silver-inlaid wooden base.

Please feel free to enjoy this Chinese wood carving of a seated Guanyin, early Qing dynasty. The Guanyin is seated in rajalitasana, royal ease, on a pierced rockwork base with one leg lowered and the other with knee raised supporting the right arm, the face carved with a poised and calm expression, wearing a tiara and loose robes falling over the shoulders and open at the chest to reveal an elaborate beaded necklace.
There are no repairs visible, but pieces of laquer had been chipped...

A Chinese Bronze Censer figure of buffalo and the figurine, Qing Dynasty. The figure of buffalo length approximately 12.6 cm and height approximately 7 cm. This dramatic Big Red—a name Daniel Tretiak attached to Haku Maki’s large red prints, usually of single Chinese characters (kanji) on black backgrounds—is a character meaning ordinary or commonplace. But Maki has done it in a stand-out way. It is 17.5in W x 24.5inH.

Purchased through Christie's a good number of years ago, this is a very rare Ko-Imari porcelain figure circa 1640. Decorated in iron-red, green, gold and black enamel, the seated official measures 7.5"x6"x2".
Condition: Excellent, with only minor wear to enamel and one almost undetectibly small old chip to the edge of the base.
