This lovely stem was produced by Morgantown Glass Company during the 1940's. These are called the 'Top Hat' cocktail because of the figural stem. Morgantown made these exclusively for the Knickerbocker Hotel in Chicago, and they were never offered for sale to the general public directly. Offered here are 6 Top Hat cocktails: 2 Topaz, 2 Smoke, 1 amethyst and 1 blue. All are in perfect condition. Price is per stem.

Fine Chinese Western Han Dynasty Painted Pottery Ding Tripod

This pottery tripod vessel, or "ding", was made during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8). It is made from a grey pottery, relatively highly-fired, both body and cover having a distinct ring when tapped. The body stands on three sturdy integral feet. On opposite sides at the waist are two square-cut handles. The top of the cover has a protruding ring that allows it to be turned upside-down and used as a bowl. Both cover and bo...

Rare Chinese Song / Yuan Dynasty Buddhist Pottery Zodiac Jar

This interesting pottery jar was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279), or possibly the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368) and has been been excavated from a Buddhist site in Yunnan province. It is made from a fairly high-fired grey pottery and is quite wide compared to other known similar examples. The yellowish-brown surface colour is due to the iron-rich Yunnan soil.

Strips of clay have been applied to the outer wall to f...

Large Chinese Yuan / Early Ming Dynasty Glazed Stoneware Jar / Vase

This superb looking stoneware jar was made during the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368) or the early part of the following Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). It is heavily-potted with a finely "ribbed" body and coated in a thick very dark brown / black glaze. It has a particularly attractive form with its wide round body, narrow neck and flared mouth. The flat base remains unglazed, revealing the sandy-coloured stoneware body.

Very Rare Chinese Song Dynasty Jar with Stand & Cover (Dragon Chasing Pearl)

This stoneware jar was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 -1279). We have had a few similar "dragon" jars over the years but it is extremely rare to see such a jar with not only a cover, but a cut-out bowl in which it stands. We have known that such items existed as there is one illustrated in a Chinese museum book (see above for reference).

Such jars as this with an applied dragon around its shoulder are f...

Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Female Courtier (“Fat Lady”)

Arguably the most desirable pottery sculpture from the Tang Dynasty is the female courtier, or "fat lady". This figure was made around the mid 8th century and is a particularly elegant example. The lady stands with her hands clasped together under her flowing robe and her head turned a little to the right. Note also the elaborate hairstyle. It is relatively highly-fired and made from a buff-coloured pottery that has been "...

Large (Six Feet Tall) and Powerful Joseon Dynasty Dragon Painting mounted on Gold Silk. Unlike the stereotyped dragon paintings we see in other countries, each Korean dragon painting has a unique personality. This large and regal example is a dynamic rendering of Korea's dragon god who brings both rain and good fortune. His face is full of life and his body writhes with energy as he flies through clouds cleverly and beautifully rendered in the shape of waves of the sea (because he brings rain). ...
