For sale here is a BIG vintage 1940s 50s Japanese green glass and silver leaves overlay musical vanity jar from Japan. A beautiful artifact, and so versatile! Could be used to store many different types of items on a vanity stand, in a bathroom, anywhere where you want the storage to look pretty! Plays a lovely melody, possibly by Tschaikovsky, but I don't recognize it. Measures 9-3/4" tall at the top of the handle when in the upright position, the glass jar itself measures 5" high. Japanese Modern silver box on stand, ca 1930. Rectangular with curved corners. Box has straight sides and cover top is gently raised and has applied gilt medallion with dramatic dragon in low relief. Box and cover interior lined with stained-wood. Stand has wide and tapering shoulder and flat well border with open stained-wood bottom. Marked. Very good condition.

C-scroll handle mounted to shoulder and cylindrical faceted neck. Repousse sterling silver collar and hinged and cork-lined cover. Silver fully marked including maker’s stamp, date symbol, and S830. Very good condition with deep patina.
