This is a 17th century, coloured stone Buddha statue. It is curved out of a single piece of solid rock. The clothing on the body is maroon in colour and the boarder around the sleeve and neck is in black colour. The Buddha face, hand and feet are covered with traces of gold leaf gilding. All slightly raised work, the portrait is in gray, black, red, flesh tone, browns and gold. A square Chinese cloisonne enamel gau box with four arched apertures and gold gilt strap loops for personal carrying. Richly decorated on a yellow ground with designs of formal lotus and foliage, the top side panel has a dark blue fylfot. The back panel, with the large red Shou-type character, slides up to open. Made for the Tibetan market, this dates early to mid 19th century, but could possibly be late 18th. Measures 3.35 inches high, 3" across, 1" deep.

This fabulous vintage Mexican Bracelet has a stunning design similar to the work of Antonio Pineda - it's signed with the initials AP but they differ from the more common Pineda hallmark and we're not sure who the artist is. It's a massive piece measuring 7" long, 1" wide and is quite heavy at 115.5 grams. Early style pin closure. No damage noted, just some light wear and tarnish and the Amethyst stones have the typical inclusions. A fantastic bracelet that any collector will love.
