This is one of the prettiest Schiaparelli sets I have ever had. It is shiny silver plated, likely rhodium and it has an intricate flower design done with sparkling clear rhinestones, ruby red cabochons, and big faux pearls each with a rhinestone in the top. The ground textile is a dark woolen flannel "inlaid" with pieces of colored fabric and embroidered in silk yarn in different colors. This jaw dropping necklace was designed by contemporary designer jeweler, Robert Sorrell. Mr. Sorrell's pieces have been featured in the runway collections of Thierry Mugler, as well as in a number of theater productions including Cirque de Soleil. The necklace measures 17" long x 5" wide and has a removable panel that adds 2 3/4" in length. The set has ombre crystals from clear to red and it is signed "Sorrell Originals" on the reverse. A Chinese silver goblet of monumental size and magnificent craftsmanship, the cup with a diameter of 12.8 cm is chased and embossed with a continuous scene of numerous foot soldiers, warriors on horesback and courtiers in pavilions- all against a dense background of trees, mountains and pagodas.
