18th century small Indian bronze votive sculpture of a Hindu Goddess Annapurna sitting on a throne. She is a gentle form of Parvati, consort of Shiva, and is the giver of food (and thus is worshipped to avert famine). In her hands she carries a ladle filled with gems, which signifies her generosity. Very nice casting and patina, old loss to the right part of the scarf below her elbow, beautiful wear to the front as to be expected on a devotional piece. Height 2 5/16 inches.
