A rare Guangxu period Dayazhai type famille rose bowl. This type shares the same design as other Dayazhai type porcelains, i.e. magpie and chrysanthemum on turquoise ground. It was made for the Empress Cixi. It is illustrated in the book 'Imperial wares with Official designs (Guanyangyuci)' which specializes in wares made for the Empress Cixi. Date: Guangxu mark and period (AD1875-1908); Diameter: 10.9cm or 4.3inches; Condition: one short hairline crack, cover missing; Provenance: from the collection of Ronald Longsdorf who is a world renowned collector of Dayazhai porcelains.
