An extremely rare Northern Song dynasty Ding moulded floral small bowl. This size is extremely rare for moulded Ding wares. Finely moulded with floral scrolls and a lotus flower in the centre all in a key fret border. The mouthrim was left unglazed for metal rim mounting typical of Ding wares after AD1050. Metal rim mounted porcelains was very popular among aristocrats at that time. It was considered high fashion. The porcelain texture is fine and pure. This item is of top quality. However, there is a professionally restored triangular shaped chip measuring about 1cmX0.7cm on the mouthrim. Anyway, this is still an extremely rare and collectable item. Date: Northern Song dynasty (AD960-AD1127); Dimensions: D9.9cm, H4cm. Authenticity guaranteed forever. TL test by Oxford Authentication or C-Link or the Louvre can be done before purchase.
