A large antique 19th century Imperial Russian silver and niello spoon Moscow 1875. Marked on the side of the shaft with the maker’s mark in Cyrillic, Stepan Kuzmich Levin.
Imperial Russian Moscow assay office marks "84" zolotnics, St George and the Dragon (coat of arms-of the city of Moscow) and the assay master's mark in Cyrillic "BC" assayer Viktor Savinkov. Silversmith dates 1875 indicated below.
The reverse of the bowl is splendidly engraved in classic Russian foliate motifs and decorated with finely-nielloed scenes of Moscow.
CONDITION: in very good condition, no dings, dents, soldering, or repairs. The niello is excellent in condition.
