Authentic rare ancient Chinese, Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD), silver – inlaid, thinly cast bronze, circular hand mirror. The front of the mirror is decorated with silver inlaid with three lotus leaf motifs near the outer rim; the inner site has remains of the silver plating.
CONDITION: In good condition considering its age, with beautiful green patina showing its age and usage. The mirror originally had a handle which at some point was broken off. Ancient Chinese Bronze mirrors with a handle are very rare. Most of the Chinese bronze mirrors of traditional construction are without a handle, set with a central knob for a silk cord suspension.
Diameter: 15.2 cm (6 in).
Weight: 216.7 grams.
