A pair of antique Chinese 19th century Qing Dynasty superbly carved hard-wood (most likely rosewood) buffalo groups, each carved with a young women and the infant seated on the back of a water buffalo, inlaid with ornately twisted silver wire, on its integral elaborately carved base.
CONDITION: The Sculptures are in very good overall condition except for one chip on the corner of the base of one of the figures, some minor losses to silver wire inlay and minor age cracks (as common in old wood). The surface of the wood is covered by very old dark varnish with the structure crumbled from age, bases with the white marks left by the old paper label stickers.
MEASUREMENTS: Since they are a sculptures, it can’t be expected to be exactly even. The size which we are providing is, approximately: Height: 25 cm (9.84 inches). Overall length: 22 cm (8.66 inches).
