Spectacular Authentic Antique 19th century Meiji Period circa 1885 A.D. Japanese Satsuma Earthenware large planter-fish bowl.

The exterior is finely hand painted in raised enamels and gilded with two opposing large lobed panels depicting samurais, dressed in elaborated brocade kimonos, highlighted with gold and flanked by two vertical panels adorned with intricate geometric designs, and finished in raised enamel and gold. Enclosed at the top and the bottom are raised borders adorned with intricate geometric designs, finished in raised enamel and gold.

Please note that this is an authentic antique Japanese satsuma Fish Bowl and not a contemporary Chinese reproduction of satsuma as are the many on the market.

CONDITION: In good condition considering its age to be over 100 years, showing its age and usage; no cracks, restorations, or repairs. The small imperfections on the inner gold ring of the rim of the bowl look on the images as chips as an imperfection in gold paint.

Please notice that the pictures in the listing are a part of the description of the condition of the object.
