A shallow bowl of solid silver hand hammered and chased in Bas-relief with a large flower-head, each petal framing various animals including tiger, wild boar, eagle, and hawk. The bowl rests on a flaring trumpet foot stamped with Tbilisi mint lobed hallmark with ТМД, a rectangular stamp with initials of Assay Master with initials A.K in Cyrillic alphabet, an oval cartouche bearing 3 letters in Georgian Mkhedruli alphabet.
Also, the back of the bowl is stamped with a large, elaborate hallmark with letters in the Georgian alphabet. So, it is possible that the cup could be much older and marked in Russian Assay 1804-1832 for resale.
NOTE: According to Imperial Russia's trade regulations, any silver objects that are intended for sale on the market must display the silver hallmark of the Imperial Russian Assay Office. This requirement applies to all silver items, including those crafted in the 17th-18th century but put up for sale in the 19th century; such items must bear the current Assay Office hallmark.
