Antique 16th century Turkish Ottoman gold gilt-copper (Tombak) Islamic Amulet case (Ta'wiz-Muska) of hexagonal cylindrical form the bottom part adorned with engraved ornament. The upper part with two small integral rectangular suspension loops, allow the amulet to be suspended with a silk cord from the neck. originally held a Qur’anic verse.
According to the previous owner, this amulet case was found before World War II on the Mohacs battlefield in Hungary.
CONDITION: Showing its age and usage, absence of two closure ends, one of the ends slightly chipped.
