A good chinese brush washer, stoutly potted and covered in a dark red and flambe glaze. The glaze to the exterior is like a striated 2-tone and the flambe has only been successful to the interior. The base and interior are covered in a greyish glaze with rust coloured craquelure. The foot rim is unglazed.
Probably dating from the C19th., it measures 12.5 cms across and weighs 352 gms.
There is a minuscule flake to the glaze surface (Difficult to spot but see photo 6 for close-up.).
N.B. Photos 5 & 6 show the colour a lot brighter than it actually is. Photo 1 has been amended to show it much closer. Photos 2,3 & 4 show it O.K..
