A rare very well carved soapstone sculpture of Lui Hai in traditional pose ensnaring the three -legged toad with a string of cash. This item was made circa 1750 - 1800 during the reigns of either the Qianlong or the Jaiqing Emperors. The tip of one finger is missing and there is an old glued repair - most visible on the upper foot. Little of the original paintwork is now visible. Height - 7.5 inches (19cm).

A rare Dehua 'Blanc de Chine' porcelain figure group depicting two kneeling women and a crucifix - made in the 18th Century for export to Europe. An identical piece - part of the P J Donnelly bequest - is currently on display in the British Museum. There are two light hairlines visible on the front and a firing crack following the mold join on one side. Only traces of the original gilding remain. 3.9 inches (10cm) High.

A rare Early 17th century peach form bronze waterpot (for the scholar's writing table) with three peach-shaped feet, probably made circa 1600 - 1644. There is very old, dark, patination and the remains of the original gold splashed decoration is still visible on the underside. This item is in very good condition with no damages. 2 1/2 inches (6.5cm) High 5.2 inches (13cm) Across.

A bronze tripod censer with elephant form feet made during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor (1736-1795). There is no cover and the handles have been removed. There are losses to the ear of one elephant and to the trunk of the other, with one exception, all the semi-precious stones which would have been set in the elephants headresses are missing. 4.2 inches (10.5cm) High.

A good bronze bombe form censer with rare figural decoration. The base carries the six character mark of the Ming Xuande Emperor but this item was made much later during either the late 18th or early 19th Centuries (c1790 - 1850). Condition - very good. A charming 'mutton-fat' jade carving of the Hehe Erxian (or 'Hehe Twins') holding a basket (containing a bat) also a lotus flower and probably made in the 18th Century during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor (1736-1795). Condition very good. 1.85 inches (4.8cm) High 1.8 inches (4.75cm) Wide

A well carved rock crystal sculpture comprising a vase with "chilong" dragon handles and surrounded by Magnolia, Peach, Pomegranate and Lingzhi Fungus. Condition -there is impact damage to the neck and a branch and two of the peach leaves are chipped. 3.75 inches (9.5cm) high 4.5 inches (11.5cm) wide.

A very finely decorated Imperial wine cup depicting two iron-red five-clawed dragons, over breaking waves, in pursuit of flaming pearls. The base carries the underglaze blue seal mark of the Daoguang Emperor and was made during his reign (1821-1850). There is a 4cm hairline running from the rim . There is also a small rim chip above the tail of one of the dragons and there are two tiny rim nibbles (Please see pictures). Height - 4.7cm Diameter - 5.9cm

清道光 稀有的官窑制矾红龙纹酒杯
一件精美的官窑制矾红二龙戏珠纹酒杯。底有“大清道光年制”青花六字篆书款，亦作于本朝。
品相：自口沿处以一道4厘米长的冲缝。口沿另有一处小磕口和两处极小的瑕疵（见照片）。高4.7厘米，直径5.9厘米。

A heavy Ming style bronze censer bearing the inscription - "There is no God but Allah and Mohammed is his prophet". Similarly inscribed bronzes and porcelain were first made for the Imperial court during the reign of the Zhengde Emperor (1506-1521) but this item was made later. The base carries a four character Xuande mark. Condition - very good. 3 inches (7.5cm) High 5.3 inches (13.5cm) Wide.

阿拉伯文字装饰的宣德款铜香炉
一件明代风格的铜香炉，上有阿拉伯文字，译为：阿拉是唯一的神，穆罕默德是他的先知。带有类似文字装饰的铜器和瓷器首先出现于明正德年间的宫廷，但此件可能稍晚。底有“宣德年制”四字款。

A superbly carved yellow soapstone seal in the form of a boulder. The legend on the base seems to read: Hua pa chou shang yin, or "Huapa (Flowery Loquat) seal of congratulation". On one side is a design of archaic dragons sporting around a traditional emblem of wealth, the copper cash with a square hole. Three inscriptions are carved on the faces of the boulder, much as ancient inscriptions were carved on suitable rock faces in the mountains. They appear to be seven-character poems containing phrases such as "water rising in spring" "as light as a feather" "seeking new fire" "lamp for book reading" "snowy pine" etc.Condition - excellent. The seal has been used and the characters are encrusted with old seal paste. We have been reliably informed that this item probably dates to the first half of the 19th Century c1800-1850. 3.5 inches (9cm) High.

精美稀有的田黄石雕印章

An exceptionally well decorated and finely potted bowl made to the best Imperial standards. The base carries the six character reign mark of the Chenghua Emperor enclosed within a double circle. This item was made later - during the reign of the Kangxi Emperor - probably in imitation of or as a replacement for a 15th Century Ming original. There are eight chips to the rim. There is a 2.5cm light hairline running from the rim. 17cm (6.7 inches) Diameter 7.5cm (3 inches) High.

A fine early 18th Century blue and white bowl attractively painted to the exterior with a continuous scene of ladies at leisure in a fenced riverside garden. The interior is painted with a central roundel of the Three Friends of Winter. The base carries the six character mark of the Yongzheng Emperor and was made during his reign (1723-1735). The everted rim has been slightly reduced and there is extensive surface scratching both inside and out. 8.25 inches (21cm) diameter 3.7 inches (9.5cm) high.

An attractive Chinese soapstone carving of the Daoist Immortal Zhong Hanli. This item was made circa 1790-1820 either late in the Qianlong reign or during the reign of the Jaiqing Emperor. Condition very good. There are natural flaws in the stone and much of the original paint can still be seen. 14cm (5.5 inches) High 10cm (4 inches) Wide.

A rare large deep dish, of Imperial quality, very finely painted in shades of iron red depicting two five clawed dragons amongst clouds contesting a flaming pearl. There are two similarly painted five-clawed dragons, each in pursuit of a pearl, painted on the underside. The base carries the partly erased six character mark of the Qianlong Emperor but this item was probably made later, during the reign of the Guangxu Emperor (1875-1908). Condition - excellent. There are no chips or cracks and there has been no restoration. There are three glaze blemishes to the clouds in the upper region of the dish the largest of which is above the head of the right hand dragon. 13.5 inches (34cm) diameter 2 inches (5cm) high.

乾隆款矾红釉二龙戏珠纹盘
一件具官窑品质、工艺精美的矾红二龙戏珠纹深口盘。底有部分被擦掉的矾红六字“大清乾隆年制”款，但应为后世光绪年间所做。
品相：完好。无磕无冲，无修复。盘内上部云纹上有三处缺陷（小黑点），最大的一处出现在右侧龙纹之上。直径34厘米，高5厘米。

A rare and exceptionally large and imposing 1930s Bourne Denby stoneware vase with styalised art deco cloud decoration. This item is in very good condition with no damages and no restoration. 36cm(14.2 inches)high and 23.5cm(9.3 inches)across at the widest point.

A charming pastel portrait by Dorothy Colles which was commisioned for a "Trufood" advertizing poster. Dorothy Colles (1917-2003) was, according to an obituary in the Independent newspaper,"gifted in portraits of children". She has exhibited through the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of Portrait Painting. There is a water 'splash' above the head of the boy which we have not attempted to restore. Otherwise excellent condition. The picture 19.5 inches by 17.3 inches (49.5cm by 44cm)

A charming, signed, pastel portrait by Dorothy Colles (1917-2003) who was (according to an obituary published in the Independent newspaper) "gifted in portraits of children". This picture was drawn circa 1963 (please see our other Colles picture) and was a commissioned piece for an advertising poster. Dorothy Colles has exhibited through the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of Portrait Painting. Condition - excellent. The picture 20 inches by 17.7 inches (51cm x 45cm). The original frame - 23.8 inches by 21.7 inches (60cm x 55cm).

A well carved, painted, terracotta pipe made by skilled potters of either the Bamessing or the Babungo on the Cameroon Grasfields. Originally, only Kings, chiefs and court officials would have smoked prestige pipes of this kind but the potters were quick to create these pipes for sale to Europeans even before the colonial period. This pipe portrays a dignatory with his elaborate hat (possibly beaded). There are pipe heads of this type on display in the Liverpool World Museum. This item was probably made early in the 20th Century. Condition is very good. There are chips to the headress (please see pictures) and wear to the painted areas. Height 6.75 inches(17cm)

An "egg and spinach" biscuit-glazed porcelain incense/taper stick holder modelled in the form of a Buddhist guardian lion. These items were made both for the domestic market and for export to Europe circa 1690-1710 during the reign of the Kangxi Emperor. Condition - The upper jaw has been repaired and there has been a very old loss ( possibly during the making) to the top of the incense holder. Height 6.3 inches (16cm).

17/18世纪 素三彩狮形香插 清康熙
一件素三彩狮形香插。当时中国国内和欧洲市场皆可见到，作于清康熙年间，约1690-1710年间。
品相：狮口上颚有修补，香插部分上方有一处旧的缺失（可能为烧造过程中所致）。高16厘米。

A very rare late Ming porcelain dish decorated in underglaze blue with overglaze iron red and green enamels. The base carries the four character mark of the Chenghua emperor but this item was made during the reign of the Tianqi Emperor(1621-1627)probably for export to Japan. Condition extremely fine. No restoration and( apart from the usual rim fritting) no damages and no losses to the overglaze decoration. 6.5 inches(16.5cm) Diameter.

明天启 五彩人物盘
一件少有的明晚期五彩盘。底有“成化年制”四字款，但作于明天启年间，故为出口至日本的外销品。
品相：非常好。除常见的毛口现象外，无修复，无损伤，无缺失。直径16.5厘米。

An early 18th Century underglaze blue decorated porcelain tea bowl and saucer made for export to Europe during the reign of the Kangxi Emperor (1662-1722). Condition - good. There are the usual rim frits and there is a light hairline running from the rim of the saucer.

品相：良好。有毛口现象，碟上自口沿起有一处冲缝。

A very attractive, well patinated bronze censer on lotus form stand with ruyi - shaped feet. On the base is the six character seal mark of the Xuande Emperor but this item was made later, during the 17th Century - late Ming or early Qing. The censer appears to have been used as a plant pot - the base has been drilled in three places and there are heavy malachite - tinged encrustations to the interior (please see pictures). 5.25 inches (13.5cm) High 5.7 inches (14.7cm) Across.

精美的17世纪 双耳三足铜香炉带座
一件精美的包浆厚重的铜香炉，带如意足莲花形座。底有“大明宣德年制”六字款，但为稍晚17世纪（明末清初）所作。

A small 17th century teapot, delicately painted in underglaze cobalt blue, depicting a scholar under a pine tree .There is a poem on the reverse side. The poem reads - "The day go fishing at Shui River. the morning having dream on Qi Shan Mountain." Both are famous locations in Shaanxi province, central northern China. This item was made in China during the reign of the Kangxi Emperor (1662-1722). Condition - There is a crack at the base of the handle and there is production glaze loss at the back of the handle. There are a number of tiny burst glaze bubbles - the largest being to the underside of the spout. Height 3.2 inches (8cm) Length 4.5 inches (11.5cm).

A fine and rare 'Transitional' double gourd vase, delicately painted in underglaze blue, depicting two scholars at leisure in a garden. The neck is decorated with styalized tulips. This item was made circa 1640 during the reign of the Chongzhen Emperor (1628 to 1644). Condition - there are museum style gold leaf repairs to the top and there is a kiln iron spot on the lapet border to the waist of the vase. 8 inches (20cm) high.

明崇祯 明晚期青花人物葫芦瓶
一件精美稀有的“过渡期”青花人物葫芦瓶。瓶颈以郁金香装饰。作于明崇祯年间，约1640年左右。
品相：瓶口有博物馆风格的金叶修补，瓶中间有一处烧制过程中形成的铁锈色斑。高20厘米。

A large circular tureen and cover painted in underglaze blue depicting peonies, willow trees and rockwork in a garden setting. This item was made in China circa 1750, during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor, for export to Europe. Condition - there are minor losses. Two leaves on the pomegranate finial are chipped and an ear is missing from one of the boar's head handles. There are chips to the inside of the cover and there is a light hairline to the base. There are no repairs and there has been no restoration. 8 inches (20cm) High 10 inches (25cm) Diameter.

约1750年 外销青花大汤碗连盖
一件圆形青花花鸟风景装饰的大汤碗。作于清乾隆年间，约1750年，为出口至欧洲的外销瓷。

A beautifully decorated late 17th Century jar delicately painted in shades of underglaze blue. On one side is an image from the second chapter of the Yuan dynasty play the Xi Xiang Ji('The Romance of the Western Chamber') written by Wang Shifu - depicting Cui Yingying and her maid Hong Niang together with the scholar Zhang Sheng and a monk. On the other panel is painted a scene from the legend of the warrior heroine Hua Mu Lan who fought in many campaigns for the emperor's troops disguised as a man. This item was made during the reign of the Kangxi Emperor (1662-1722). Condition - excellent. No chips, cracks or restoration. 7 inches (18cm) High 7.5 inches (19cm) Wide.

A large vase, spectacularly decorated with falangcai (famille rose) enamels against a pale green background depicting a pantheon of gods, immortals, legendary figures and mythical beasts in a heavenly landscape amongst mountains and clouds. This item was made in the first half of the 19th Century during the reign of the Daoguang Emperor (1821-1850). Condition - the neck has been cut down, and ground, there are glaze hairlines to the base and there are minor losses to the enamels. No further damage and no restoration. Height 17.8 inches (45cm).

清道光 珐琅彩瑶池会仙图大瓶
一件浅青地珐琅彩瑶池会仙图大瓶。作于19世纪上半期清道光年间。
品相：瓶颈被削去一部分后经打磨，底部釉面有细裂痕，釉面有少许脱落。无其他损伤或修复。高45厘米。

A sepik river, Papua New Guinea mask consisting of the carapace of a tortoise decorated with cowrie shells, boars tusks and bird of paradise feathers. This item was probably made during the 1970s. Condition - very good - no losses. 9 inches (23cm) High x 7 inches (18cm) wide - excluding feathers.

A small 14th Century green glazed dish decorated inside with a pair of fish - a symbol of marital harmony. This item was made in Longquan county, Zhejiang, during the Yuan Dynasty (1279 to 1368) for the domestic Chinese market. Condition - there is a glaze imperfection to the interior where there is also a 'kiln iron spot' and there has been good restoration to the foot rim. 5.1 inches (13cm) Diameter.

元代 龙泉窑粉青釉印花双鱼盘
一件14世纪粉青釉印花双鱼盘，此类器皿一般为婚庆所用。作于元代龙泉窑。
品相：内部有一处釉面瑕疵，底足经过很好的修复。直径13厘米。

An attractive pair of porcelain joss stick holders, enamelled 'on biscuit', depicting two 'buddhistic' guardian lions. These items were made, circa 1800, during the reign of the Jiaqing emperor (1796 - 1820) for export and for the domestic market. One has a small piece of decoration missing above the right ear and has enamel loss to the right eye brow. No further damages and no restoration. 9 inches (23cm) High.

18/19世纪外销狮纹素三彩香插一对 清嘉庆
一对素三彩狮纹香插。约作于1800年左右，清嘉庆年间。
品相：其中一个狮右耳上有一处色彩缺失，右眼眉上有一处釉面缺失。无其他损伤或修复。高23厘米。

A small, well patinated, Yixing stoneware teapot made in China circa 1700 to 1730 during either the Kangxi or Yongzheng reigns. There are no makers or owners seal marks. Condition - excellent. One minute base chip - no cracks and no resoration. 3.3 inches(8.5cm) long,2.2 inches (5.5cm) high.

An unusual beaker or gu shaped vase simply and strikingly decorated with wucai overglaze enamels. The central section is of a 'rope twist' form possibly copying turned wood. This item was made for export to Europe during the reign of the Kangxi emperor - 1662 to 1722. Condition - the neck has been reduced by 3.5 cm and there is a light 3cm hairline running from the rim. No further damages and no restoration. 8.8 inches (22.5cm) high, 4 inches (10cm) diameter across the base.

17世纪清康熙 外销五彩花觚（部分被削）
一件五彩花觚，中间有波浪纹。为清康熙年间的外销瓷。

A small gu shaped vase decorated in 17th century style with wucai enamels. this item was made during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662 to 1722). Condition - there are large chips and fritting to the rim and there is a 3cm hairline running from the rim. There is also some fritting to the enamels at the base

17/18世纪清康熙五彩外销撇口小樽
一件17世纪风格的五彩撇口小樽。作于清康熙年间。
品相：口沿有磕和毛口，并有连带的一道长约3厘米的冲缝。底部釉彩也有些许剥蚀。

A gilt bronze belt hook unusually cast with a bat's head to the centre and with a dragon head terminal. This item was made either during the early Western Han Dynasty or the late Warring States period of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty - circa 3rd to 4th Century BC. For an example dating to the same period please see lot 204 - Bonhams, London 12 May 2008. Condition - very good. No repairs or restoration. 3.2 inches (8cm) long.

A well patinated 16th/17th Century bronze Gu form vase cast in archaic Shang dynasty style. This is from the collection of the late Reverend Victor Farmer. Condition - the interior base has been replaced or re-glued and there are the usual 'production' repairs - made at the time of manufacture. This item was probably made during the reign of the Wanli emperor - 1573 to 1619. 11.7 inches (30cm) high.
