An early 20th Century Zisha ("purple clay") teapot with famille rose enamelled decoration depicting the "Three Friends of Winter" - prunus (plumb) blossom, pine tree and bamboo - and also a single bat. This item was made in Yixing, Zhejiang province, China during the Republic period (1911-1949). The maker's or shop seal mark inside the cover reads "Rong Ji"; the elaborate seal mark on the base reads "Fu Kang Ying Kou". Ying Kou is a town in Liao Ning province, north east China. Condition: very good - there are no damages other than a minute chip to the cover (please view enlargement 7) . There has been no restoration. 16.5cm (6.5inches) long; 9cm (3.5inches) high. 宜兴紫砂加彩“岁寒三友”茶壶 约民国时期

A Ruskin pottery vase by William Howson Taylor typically copying a Chinese Song dynasty shape. It has a purplish pink lustre "souffle" glaze and on the base is the impressed date 1931. Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration. 11cm (4.3 inches) high.

A painted lacquer panel decorated with carved bone, ivory and "composition" figures depicting a farmer and a boy in a mountain landscape. This item was made in Japan, for export, during the Meiji period (1868-1911) Condition: very good - minor losses to the boy's fishing net and to some of the white paint; no restoration and no further losses. 45.2cm (17.9inches) high; 30cm (11.9inches) wide. A rare ovoid vase on high flaring foot painted in shades of underglaze blue and made in China for export to Europe during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722). Condition: there is "fritting" (production glaze loss) to the base (please view enlargements) and there are very minor glaze imperfections; there are no cracks and there has been no restoration. 14.5cm (5.7inches) high.

A late 19th or early 20th Century, possibly Ekoi, carved wood stool made in Cameroon, West Africa. Condition: good - minor losses and wear and an age related crack to the top but no repairs or restoration. 42cm (16.25inches) high; 30cm (11.75inches) diameter.

A larger than average Anglo-Irish Rummer (ale glass) with "Panel & Flute" cut glass "Barrel" shape bowl and "Bladed" knop. This item was made in colonial British ruled Ireland circa 1850. Condition: excellent - no damages. 10.3cm 94.5inches) high; 8.4cm ( 3.25inches) diameter.

An early 20th Century ostrich feather ladies fan with twenty faux tortoiseshell (plastic) sticks. This item was made in the first half of the 20th Century, probably circa 1920-1940. Condition: excellent, probably unused - some of the sticks still have their original tissue paper wraps. 38cm (15inches) across when extended.

A rare and finely carved hardwood figure group depicting the reclining Buddai with three small boys together with its original wood stand. This item was made in China in the 18th century during the reign of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795). Condition: generally very good but the tip of the Buddai's left foot is missing and the boy on the far right has been broken and re-glued (with a 2mm section of his fore arm missing) and there is a small chip to the robe covering the Buddai's right leg; no further damages and no replacements or restoration. 9cm (3.5inches) high; 20cm (8inches) high. A pair of 17th/18th Century style underglaze blue painted vases decorated with flowering branches of prunus blossom. The bases carry the four character reign mark of the Kangxi emperor but these items were made later, probably for export, during the late Qing or early Republic period, circa 1880-1920. Condition: one vase is in excellent condition, with no damages and no repairs or restoration; the other has a 0.7cm under rim chip (please view our 4th picture) and it has a re-glued 10cm section on the shoulder (please view pictures 3, 5 & 6). 29.8cm (11.7inches) high. A green "Celadon" glazed dish or shallow bowl with flat bracketed rim. The centre is decorated with a moulded peony flower; surrounding this the thick green glaze is incised with stylized lotus scrolls. This item was made in the Longquan kilns, Zhejiang province circa 1400-1500 during the first half of the Ming dynasty. For a very similar example please compare exhibit 16:66, page 489 - "Ming Ceramics in the British Museum", Jessica Harrison Hall. Condition - excellent - there is the usual surface wear to the interior but there are no damages and no restoration. 25cm (9.8 inches) diameter.

明代 龙泉窑青釉印花菱口盘 约1400 - 1500
一件青釉菱口盘或浅口碗。中央印花为牡丹，四周刻有缠枝莲花，为厚重青釉所覆盖。作于浙江龙泉窑，约为明代上半期(1400 - 1500)。类似的器型，请见《大英博物馆明代陶瓷》一书(英文，"Ming Ceramics in the British Museum", Jessica Harrison Hall)第489页第16:66展品。

A Chinese porcelain vase profusely decorated with famille rose enamels. This item was made for export during the second half of the 19th century, possibly during the reign of the Tongzhi emperor (1862-1874). There is a shallow ground under rim chip (please view enlargement 7) and there is wear to the gilding on the stylized gilded chilong dragons around the neck; no cracks and no restoration. 15cm (5.9inches) high.

A rare carved Sepik River Mask decorated with mud embedded cowrie shells and human hair. This item is 'old' by Papua New Guinea standards having been made pre 1970. These items were made by the prolific English powder compact makers - Stratton. Condition; excellent. A rare finely carved cylindrical bamboo incense box depicting Scholars amongst rocks and pine trees in a mountain landscape. This item was made in China in the late Qing period - the characters carved into the top read "Qing Guangxu Nian Zhi" which translates as "Made in the Guangxu reign Qing dynasty" (1875-1908). Condition - one 2cm age related crack at the top - otherwise excellent with no damages or losses and no repairs or restoration. 22.7cm (8.8inches) high.

一件精美的“高士赏游”竹雕香筒。做于清晚期，香筒上刻有“清光绪年制”字样。

A finely moulded biscuit glazed Wang Binrong style porcelain vase decorated with the eight buddhist emblems and two Qianlong style dragons. The base has a moulded CHINA mark indicating that this item was made post 1891 for export during either the late Guangxu or early Republic period (circa 1895-1920). Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration. 21cm (8.25 inches) high.

A large and heavy carved hardwood mask, inset with Paua shell eyebrows, eyes and teeth, depicting tu-mata-uenga - the Maori god of war. Condition: very good - no damages, repairs or restoration. 48cm (18.9inches) high; 28cm (11inches) wide.

A large and heavy porcelain vase with thick Sang-de-boeuf ('Ox-blood') glaze. On the base is incised the six character reign mark of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). We have been unable to decide whether this item was made during his reign (in the late Qing dynasty) or later during the Republic period (1912-1949. Condition: excellent - no damages and no restoration. 44cm (17.3inches) high; weight 5kg (11 lbs).

A rare 18th Century Liverpool porcelain teapot finely painted with Chinese style "Famille Rose" polychrome enamels. This item was made, circa 1760-1770, by one of two Liverpool makers - either Richard Chaffers & Co (1754-1765) or Phillip Christian (1765-1778) - who consecutively occupied the same factory on Shaws Brow. Condition: there is no cover and there are small chips to the tip of the spout (please view enlargements); otherwise excellent, with no further damages and no repairs or restoration 11cm (4.3inches) high;18cm (7.1inches) long. A small thinly potted wine or tea cup delicately painted in shades of underglaze blue with traditional Chinese landscape scenes. The cup is bound with a metal (copper) rim, apparently made to cover a burst glaze bubble. On the base is a four character shop mark which reads "Shun Li Kun Ji". The makers mark was in use during the late Qing / early Republic period so we assume that this item was made during the late 19th or early 20th Century. Condition - very good - no damages and no restoration. 5cm (2inches) high; 6.5cm (2.5inches) diameter.

A crisply moulded Art Deco style frosted glass bowl on three pear shaped feet and with metal bound rim. This item was probably made in the USA in the 1930s. Condition: excellent - no damages 10.3cm (4.1inches) diameter; 6cm (2.3inches) high.

A large dish or plate painted in typical early 18th Century "Famille Rose" enamels and decorated with flowering peony shrubs and a chrysanthemum.This item was made in China, for export to Europe, during the reign of the Yongzheng emperor (1723-1735). Condition - extensively damaged - it has been broken into many pieces and has old rivetted ("stapled") and infilled repairs but could be a good study or display piece.31cm (12inches) diameter

A heavy, portable, antique metal bound wood cabinet fitted with drawers and a carrying handle made in Japan, circa 1800-1900 or possibly earlier. Condition: there is considerable age wear which includes minor losses to the edges and the metal mounts. 38cm (15inches) high;33cm (13inches) wide; 44cm(17.3inches) deep. Weight: 8kg (approx 17.5lb)

A large underglaze blue decorated vase, very finely painted in 18th Century style with bands of plantain leaves, key fret and ruyi above the Bajixiang (eight Buddhist emblems) amongst cloud scrolls. On the base is the six character seal mark of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795) but this item was made later, in the 20th Century, probably during the Republic period (1911-1949). Condition - a section of the body has been broken and was professionally repaired about 30 years ago (please view enlargements 7 and 8) and there are two drill holes to the base where we have had the vase tested. 38cm (15inches) high. A hammered copper Arts and Crafts style plaque decorated with three stylized marine fish amongst bubbles and seaweed. This item will have been made in the British Isles circa 1890-1910. We have been unable to attribute it to a particular school or workshop. Condition: very good, with no damages or repairs. 30cm (12 inches) diameter

A rare thinly potted and extremely well painted deep dish with exceptionally fine porcelain body. The base carries the six character reign mark of the Jiajing emperor (1522-1566) enclosed within a double circle but this item was probably made later, in the 16th/17th Century, during the reign of the Wanli emperor (1573-1619). Condition: there is production glaze loss (fritting) to the rim but no cracks or damages and no restoration. 15cm (6 inches) diameter; 3.2cm (1.25inches) high. 894

An archaic style vase with crackle-glaze and simulated metal mounts. On the base is the apocryphal mark of the 15th Century (Ming) Chenghua emperor but this item was made much later , in the 19th Century, probably during the reign of the Tongzhi emperor (1862-1874) when this style was first introduced. Condition - excellent no damage and no restoration. 30cm (11.75 inches) high. A stainless steel "Campden" candelabrum designed by award winning silversmith and industrial designer Robert Welch for Old Hall and manufactured circa 1957. Condition: excellent with very little sign of wear and original teak wood feet still intact. 23.2cm (9.1inches) high.

A heavy densely carved hardwood Anglo Indian stand. This item was made in South West India, in either Karnataka or Maharashtra,probably during the late 19th or early 20th Century. Condition - good - no damages. 47.5cm (18.75inches) high; 43cm (17inches) wide.

A porcelain vase hand painted in traditional Chinese style with a continuous mountain and river landscape and accompanying poem. This item was probably made, circa 1950-1975, during the third quarter of the 20th Century. Condition: the base has been drilled for a lamp conversion; no further damages and no restoration. 33cm (13inches) high

An attractively enamelled Kutani porcelain figure of a Geisha made in Japan for export circa 1890-1910. Condition: Good - there are, easily restored, minor losses to the black enamels; no chips or cracks and no repairs or restoration. 29.5cm (11.6inches) high.

A blown moulded Art Nouveau green Loetz glass vase with 'Cherry Sprig' pewter mounts, probably designed by Frederich Adler, and made by Orion Pewter, Nuremberg, Germany circa 1905. A similar vase is illustrated in "20th Century Pewter" by Paul Carter Robinson (2012) ISBN 978 1 85149 6150. Condition: there are some very small surface nicks to the glass and slight bumps to the pewter; no cracks, losses or repairs. 10cm (4 inches) high; 11cm (4.3inches) across.

A rare Mahogany table with deeply carved traditional West African style geometric decoration and with elegant stylized antelope form legs. The European shape and African decoration suggests that this item was made for European clients during the Colonial period, is probably Igbo from eastern Nigeria, and was possibly exported to the UK in the 1950s or 1960s during the period of transition to Independence. Condition: very good - no damages or repairs. Top 74cm (29.1 inches) x 58.5cm ( 23 inches). 67 cm ( 26.3 inches) high

A bronze Censer, with cover, cast in the form of a seated Crane and made in China during either the 18th or the 19th Century. Condition: this item has been polished many times over the years and only a few traces of the original gilding remain; are some light surface bumps but no damages or losses and no repairs or restoration. 21cm (8.25inches) long; 14cm (5.5inches) high. A heavy porcelain fish bowl decorated in traditional Chinese taste in 17th Century Transitional style with a continuous panoramic landscape. Above the base is a band of 14th/15th Century style breaking waves: above the landscape is a Ruyi / floral border. Condition: there is a three way star crack to the base - one , which has an associated chip to the footrim, runs down one side of the bowl from top to bottom and a second runs half way up one side (please view enlargements); no further damages and no restoration. 30cm (12inches) high; 36cm (14inches) diameter

一件青花山水人物全景鱼缸，仿照17世纪的装饰风格所做。上面一圈如意云纹，下部一圈海水纹。
品相：底有三条冲缝形成的蟹爪纹，其中一条连接圈足上的一磕口并向上延伸至顶部（见图），另一条冲向上延伸至腹部中央。无其他损伤或修复。

A rare carved ivory Netsuke in the form of a Lion or Karashishi, made in Japan in the Edo / Tokugawa period (1600-1868), probably during the 18th Century. Condition: Excellent - age yellowing and cracks - no damages or losses and no restoration. 4cm (1.6inches)long; 3.6cm (1.3inches) high; 2.4cm (0.9inches) deep.
