A massive, heavily potted, Ming dynasty Cizhou stoneware wine jar freely decorated with flowers and plants in brown on a thick cream ground. For a very similarly decorated jar (possibly painted by the same hand) please see the example illustrated - Fig 1, p431 "Ming Ceramics in the British Museum" (ISBN 0 7141 1488 X). During the 15th and 16th centuries Cizhou-type jars, for use as wine containers, were ordered regularly by the Ming Court. There are two four character inscriptions on each side of the jar. One reads "Bai Yu Wu Xia" which translates. "White Jade is Spotless"; the other reads "Wei Shan Zui Le" which can translate "Kindness is the Most Happiness". Condition very good. 64cm (25.3inches) High.

A late 19th Century ovoid jar painted, in Yongzheng style, with 'Famille Rose' enamels depicting thirty-five boys in a dragon festival / procession. This item was made in China, possibly for export, during the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). Condition - very good - no damages and no restoration. 20cm (8 inches) high.

A well painted under glaze blue decorated bowl and cover depicting houses pavilions and gardens in a river landscape. This item was made in Jingdezhen Southern China, for export to Europe, circa 1770 -1790, during the reign of the Qianlong emperor. Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration. 12cm (4.6 inches)diameter; 9cm (3.5 inches) high.

Finely decorated 16th or early 17th Century Ming dynasty bronze lion form censer. Condition - there is a large hole to the base (enlargement 12)and another small hole at the base of the tale (just visible at the bottom of enlargement 7). 15cm (6 inches) long; 8.5cm (3.3 inches)high. Weight - 1 kg.

A rare, finely decorated, late Ming twin-handled bronze vase which still retains traces its original gilding. The vase carries the six character reign mark of the Xuande emperor (1426-1435) but this item was made later during the 16th or early 17th Century - possibly during the reign of the Wanli emperor (1573-1619). For a similar vase - Sotheby's, New Bond St, London (sale LO5212)- Lot 492. Condition very good - there are slight bumps and there are the usual small repairs which will have been made at the time of manufacture. 23cm (9 inches)high. Weight - 1.08kg.

A very finely painted fencai/famille rose enamelled teapot.The poem on the reverse side reads - "fang sheng chi jia; xiang qin xiu pi" which can be translated - "Fragrance (of tea)formed between teeth and cheeks; the scent (of the tea) deeply affects heart and spleen (refreshes one deeply)". It is signed "nie xing she zou" - "made by Nie Xing Sheng" (b.1909; d.1981) - active 1916-1981. The base mark reads Jiang Xi Mei Shu Ci Chang - "Jiangxi Art Porcelain Factory". This item was made during the Republic Period (1912-1949), probably circa 1945. Condition - excellent - no wear, damage or restoration. 15cm (6 inches) long; 8.5cm (3.3 inches) high.

民国 精美的粉彩诗画茶壶 聂杏生作

A rare pair of Qajar style Persian enamel small vases made in Iran during either the 19th or early 20th Century. Condition - there are substantial losses to the enamels of both vases but no indentations. 13.5cm (5.5inches) high.

A Chinese bronze bell with double-dragon handle above ruyi-shaped clouds and with bands of carved decoration including flowering branches,bamboo,crabs and a phoenix above a lower band of stylized rocks and waves. Unusually for a Chinese Qing dynasty piece, the bell is made from copper/tin alloy bronze. We think that this item was probably made during the first half of the 19th Century, cica 1820-1850. Condition - excellent with good patination. Dimensions - 19cm (7.5inches) high. 14cm (5.5inches) diameter. Weight - 1.4kg (3lb).

A bombe form bronze censer finely carved with four winged mythical animals and two fish. The base carries a Xuande reign mark but this item was made later, probably circa 1795-1850 during the reign of the Jiaqing or Daoguang emperors. Condition - very good - this item had been polished when we acquired it about eight years ago but is now regaining its patination; there are no damages or losses. Dimensions - 23cm (9inches) wide; 8cm (3.2inches)high. Weight 1.7kg (3.8lb).

18/19世纪 神兽纹铜香炉
一件精美的双耳铜香炉，上有四翼神兽和两条鲤鱼。底有“大明宣德年制”款，但为后世约清嘉庆道光时期（约1795-1850）所作。

A finely decorated late 19th Century Renaissance/Gothic styled copper/bronze twin-handled dish or plaque. This item was made in Germany circa 1875-1900 and is signed Gustav Grohe (1829-1906). Condition - excellent - no damages or repairs. 29cm (11.4inches) diameter.

A large, heavy and very finely cast bronze censer (incense burner) with good old patination. The base carries the six-character reign mark of the Xuande emperor but this item was made later during the 17th or 18th Century. Condition - excellent. Dimensions - 24cm (9.5inches) wide; 14cm (5.5inches) high. Weight 4.4 kilos (9.7 pounds).

A 16th/17th Century eight-sided bronze censer (incense burner) made in China during the late Ming dynasty (circa 1550-1644). Condition, very good - two of the feet have been secured by rivets one with an associated split and there is a small 0.8cm long thin gap below the rim - all possibly dating to the time of manufacture (please view enlargements 7,8 and 9). Dimensions - 14cm (5.5inches) across; 8.5cm (3.3inches) high.

明晚期 稀有的八方铜香炉

A good ruby red Peking (Beijing) glass bowl. The base carries the four character seal mark of the Qianlong Emperor and this item was made during his reign (1736-1795). Condition - good there are small chips to the rim and there is age related wear to the foot rim consistent with an 18th Century attribution. 4.5cm(1.75 inches) high; 8.3cm (3.25 inches) diameter.

一件上好的北京产宝石红料碗。底有“乾隆年制”四字篆书款，也为乾隆年间所做。

A rare underglaze blue decorated porcelain coffee can (cup) attractively painted in Chinese taste and made for export to Europe, circa 1725-1750, during the reign of either the Yongzheng or Qianlong emperors. Condition - there are three repaired rim chips, two with associated hairlines and there is a small area of glaze loss to the inside of the handle (please view enlargements). 6.8cm (2.7inches) high; 6cm (2.3inches) diameter.

A rare "mark and period" Chinese porcelain bowl. White glazed on the interior, the exterior is finely incised with two five clawed dragons in pursuit of pearls over waves and amongst flames and clouds; the outside is painted with contrasting apple green and aubergine enamels - a combination which was often used for imperial table sets. The base carries the six character reign mark of the Kangxi emperor within a double ring and this item was made within his reign (1662-1722). (For similar ref. - Sotheby's (London) 12 July 2006, lot no. 119. Condition - there are five short,mostly very light, hairlines to the rim (the longest being approx 0.8 cm);there are no chips and there has been no restoration. 5.6cm (2.25 inches) high; 11cm (4.3 inches) diameter.

清康熙 绿地茄紫龙纹碗

A "naive" style painted and glazed pottery figure of a horse made in China, for burial, during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Condition - generally very good - the corners of the base have been broken and three re-glued and there is a crack to one rear leg but no significant damages or losses. 20cm (8 inches) high; 21cm (8.25 inches) long.

A 17th/18th Century jar (without cover) painted in under glaze blue with two Qilin (each standing amongst cloud scrolls and flames) reserved against a prunus blossom / "cracked ice" ground. This item was made in China during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722). Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration. 12.7cm (5 inches) high.

A Chinese porcelain censer with cover brightly painted in late 18th Century Qianlong/Jiaqing style. The base carries the four character iron red reign mark of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795) but this item was made later during either the 19th or 20th Century. Condition - very good - there are two minor breaks to the ribbon surrounding the "lion" on the cover (please see enlargement 4) - no further damages and no restoration.

19/20世纪 18世纪晚期风格粉彩香炉 乾隆款
一件色彩鲜艳的18世纪晚期（乾隆/嘉庆）风格的粉彩香炉，底有红色“乾隆年制”四字款，但为19或20世纪所做。
品相：很好。炉盖狮钮处的彩带有两处断裂。无其他损伤或修复。

A rare, heavy and very finely potted pair of bottle vases well decorated with stylized lotus flowers in underglaze blue with Doucai style overglaze enamel decoration. The base carries a tributory four character Kangxi (1662-1722) reign mark but this item was made later - during the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). The vase shape - Yutangchun ("Jade Hall Spring") first seems to appear during the Guangxu reign and identical over glaze enamel decoration can be found on Guangxu mark and period pieces (please compare with item/stock number 318 in our catalogue) suggesting that they were made in the same location but probably not destined for the Imperial court. Condition - excellent - there is wear to the gilding and very minor surface wear consistent with age; one vase has a tiny rim chip (please see enlargement no. 8), the other is perfect, there are no other chips, there are no cracks and there has been no restoration. Size - 17.5cm high. Weight - 500gm and 520gm.

清光绪 精美的官窑风格斗彩玉堂春对瓶 康熙款
一件精美稀有、胎体厚重的对瓶，清华莲文上以斗彩风格施彩釉。底有“康熙年制”寄托款，但为后世光绪年间（1875-1908）所作。玉堂春瓷瓶的器型首创于光绪年间，同样的釉彩可见于光绪款及其时期的瓷器（光绪官窑瓷）上（见本店第318号藏品），这说明这类瓷瓶与官窑瓷器同一产地，但可能不是为宫廷所作。
品相：完好。因年代久远，镀金与釉面有些许磨损。有一只瓷瓶有一小口磕（见图8），另一只完好。无其他口磕，无冲缝，无修复。高17.5厘米，重分别为500克和520克。

A large, heavy, 17/18th Century style bottle vase glazed 'on biscuit' with "Susancai" (three colour) enamels and "Fahua" type tube-lined decoration depicting the eight Daoist Immortals on clouds over breaking waves. The neck is decorated with stylized plantain leaves over a ruyi collar.The base carries the six character reign mark of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722) but this item was probably made later, during the 19th Century. Condition - very good - no damages and no restoration. 28cm (11inches) high.

估为19世纪 素三彩法华八仙瓶 康熙款
一见器型厚重的17/18世纪风格的大型素三彩法华八仙瓶。瓶颈有蕉叶纹和如意纹，瓶底有“大清康熙年制”六字款，但估为19世纪所做。

A dated gilded pink porcelain teapot, made very early in the Republic period, well decorated in Chinese Scholar's taste with peony flowers and poem. The cover reads Yi Pian Bing Xin - literally "Heart like Crystal" meaning "Pure and Noble Character". The top carries the characters for "Luck and Wealth". The poem reads "Guo Se Tian Xiang" - "National Beauty (meaning incomparable beauty) Heavenly Fragrance" and is dated "Second Month of the Year 1914 in a house on Zhu Shan Mountain" and signed "Drawn by Sheng He Shun". The base mark reads "Jing Zhen" (Jingdezhen) "Sheng He Shun Zao" - made by Sheng He Shun. Condition - Excellent - no damages and no restoration. 10cm (4inches) high; 15cm (6inches) long.

民国初 粉底描金茶壶 生和顺署名
一件粉地描金茶壶，作于民国初年，上有牡丹和诗句。壶盖上有“一片冰心”字样。壶肩有“吉祥”字样。壶身有诗句“国色天香——时甲寅年仲月于珠山客次生和顺绘“。底有“景镇生和顺造“。

A late 18th/early 19th Century porcelain figure of a cockerel very finely painted with vibrant "famille rose" enamels. This item was made in China, probably for export, during the reign of the Jiaqing emperor (1796-1820). Condition - as appears to be usual with these pieces, there has been good restoration to the comb - the rest is in extremely fine condition. 20.5cm (8.1inches) high.

A slightly larger than average pumpkin form Yixing teapot, with nice used patina, probably made in China during the 18th or 19th Century. This item does not carry a maker's mark. Condition - very good - there are light (production) firing cracks to the body (see enlargements 5 and 8) and there is a chip and some small firing cracks to the inside of the cover; no other damages and no restoration. 10cm (4inches) high; 18cm (7.1inches) long.

宜兴紫砂南瓜壶 约18世纪
一件宜兴紫砂南瓜壶，包浆漂亮，可能为18世纪所做。此件没有署名。
品相：很好。有轻微的窑裂（见图5和图8），壶盖内部有一磕口和几处小窑裂。无其他损伤或修复。高10厘米，长18厘米。

A very rare pear-shaped vase - Yuhuchunping - finely painted with black enamel on "biscuit" (un-glazed) porcelain depicting two five clawed dragons above waves, and amongst clouds and flames, in pursuit of pearls. This item was probably made during the reign of the Daoguang emperor (1821-1850) and is possibly a reject from the imperial kilns. For a very similar item please see Daoguang mark and period seal paste box - lot no 230 Christies London, Tues,4 November 2008. Condition there is a light body hairline (see enlargement 7); a chip to the surface (enlargement 4) and an undamaged bubble on the face of one of the dragons (enlargement 12). 22.5cm (8.9inches)high.

19世纪早期 素胎黑釉龙纹玉壶春瓶 清道光

品相：瓶身有一细冲缝（见图7），表面有一磕口（见图4），其中一条龙头上有一未破的釉泡（见图12）。高22.5厘米。

A rare late 19th Century heavy celadon glazed porcelain teapot decorated in Qianjiang style with painting and poetry. The calligraphy to the right of the handle reads - " By the spring water enjoy the coolness of noon" and is signed - Mei Shan Shi. On the next side "Wealth,Honour,Luck" is inscribed in red - in black is written "copy Han Zhong style script" with a red seal which reads Fang Gu ("Copy Antiques"). To the right of the spout - "Jade Dew and Sweet Spring Water" - signed (in red) Shi Mao. To the left of the spout is the cyclical date - "one summer day in 1886" and is signed (by the artist) Fang Jia Zhen (active 1884 - 1906 during the reign of the Guangxu emperor). On the cover the characters read "Light Fragrance" and around the cover is written "a waft of light fragrance will always last". On the base, in iron red, reads "Made in the Government kiln." Condition - there is a barely visible, well repaired, chip to the rim (under the cover); there is a chip to the top of the cover and there are glaze cracks to the top surface. 10cm (4 inches) high; 16cm (6.3inches) long.

浅绛诗画方壶 署名方家珍 约1886年
一件稀有的19世纪晚期绿釉浅绛诗画方壶。胎体厚重，壶把右边有诗句：清泉乍试午阴凉，梅山氏。其右侧面用汉钟文书写红色“富贵吉祥”，黑色“节临汉钟文富贵图四字“，及红色“仿古“印章。壶嘴右边有“玉露甘泉——式茅”字样，左边有“丙戌年夏日——方家珍（注：艺术活跃期1884-1906)“。壶盖有“清香气味”四字，壶肩有“清香永味”四字。壶底有红色“官窑内造”四字。
品相：口沿有一处几乎不可见的口磕修复，壶盖顶有一处磕口，壶肩部釉面有开片。高10厘米，长16厘米。

A green glazed "celadon" stoneware vase with flattened pear-shaped body,ring handles and moulded decoration made in the Longquan kilns, Zhejiang province in the 14th Century, during the Yuan dynasty (1279-1368). On each side of the vase are six-lobed cartouches containing the Chinese characters "shou" (longevity) and "fu" (prosperity). Bronze vessels of a similar form have been produced in China since the Yuan dynasty. For a very similar example please see exhibit no. 44 (page26) in the catalogue of the 2009 Oriental Ceramic Society exhibition "The World in Monochromes". Condition - there is extensive cracking around the base area where one section has been re-glued. 19cm (7.5inches) high.

14世纪元代龙泉窑青釉花口福寿瓶

A small teapot, in late 18th Century English (Leeds) shape, delicately painted with famille rose enamels. This item was made in China for export, circa 1790-1830 - probably during the reign of the Jiaqing emperor. Condition very good - there is a little wear to the gilding and there are two surface chips to the enamels (please see enlargements 10 and 12) but no other damages, no cracks and no restoration. 14.5cm (5.75inches) long; 10.5cm (4.1inches) high.

18/19世纪 粉彩人物茶壶 约1790-1830
一件18世纪晚期仿英国（利兹）器形的粉彩人物小茶壶。约为清嘉庆1790-1830年间的外销瓷。

A rare and very finely decorated "ogee" shaped bowl painted on the outside with five blue five clawed dragons amongst flames, against yellow ground, each grasping a flaming pearl. On the base is the six character iron red seal mark of the Jiaqing emperor and this item was made during his reign (1796-1820). Condition - a barely visible 9.5cm section has been cleanly broken from the rim and has been re-glued (please see enlargements 6 & 7) and there is light wear to the base of the turquoise interior. 6cm (2.3inches)high; 19.8cm (7.75inches) diameter.

18/19世纪 黄地粉彩龙纹折腰碗 嘉庆款及其时期
一件精美的黄地粉彩龙纹折腰碗，上有二龙赶珠纹。底有红色”大清嘉庆年制“六字款，也作于此时期。
品相：有一块9.5厘米左右的开裂，后又粘连在一起（见图6和图7），内部松石绿釉底部有些划痕。高6厘米，直径19.8厘米。

A finely decorated blue and white bowl, painted in Kangxi/Yongzheng style depicting numerous (mostly zodiac) animals in an imaginary dreamlike landscape. The four character mark on the base reads "precious object copying antiques" and this item was probably made during the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). Condition - there is a restored rim chip (top left - enlargement 12) and two restored hairlines. There is also a glaze bubble and two small rim chips (enlargement 10). 7.7cm (3inches) high; 17.5cm (6.8) inches diameter. >清光绪 18世纪风格青花百兽朝龙碗
一件精美的青花百兽（多为生肖瑞兽）朝龙碗，康熙/雍正时期的装饰风格。底有“仿古珍藏”款识。约作于清光绪年间。

A finely carved white jade pendant probably made in China in the 18th Century during the reign of the Qianlong emperor. Condition - half of one of the loops is missing (please see enlargements ) - no further damages and no repairs. 3.5cm (1.6inches) long; 2.5cm (1inch) wide; 0.3cm thick.

A rare, finely potted, small deep dish, well painted with "famille verte" enamels and decorated in scholar's taste with precious objects . This item was made in Jingdezhen, China circa 1700-1722 during the reign of the Kangxi emperor. For Kangxi mark and period dishes decorated in similar style please refer to Lot 2225 Nagel (Stuttgart) 10 Nov 2001. Condition - excellent - there is normal age related wear to the enamels but no damages and no restoration. 11.5cm (4.5inches) diameter,1.1 inches (2.8cm) high.

A carved circular apple green jadeite pendant depicting a phoenix in a stylized garden landscape. This item was made in China possibly during the 19th Century. Condition - very good. 5.5cm (2.2 inches) diameter.

A finely decorated porcelain box painted with very rich and vibrant famille rose enamels. This item was probably made in China during the early 19th century (circa 1810-1830) either late in the Jiaqing reign or early in the reign of the Daoguang emperor. Condition - there has been a gilded repair to the inside of the cover - no further damages. 8cm (3.2 inches) diameter; 4cm (1.6 inches)high.

A delicately painted earthenware Satsuma dish depicting pagodas and blossoming trees in a rocky mountain landscape. The base could be signed "Sozan". This item was made in japan during the Meiji period (1868-1911). Condition - there is a little scratching and what appears to be a minor surface blemish in one small area (please see enlargement 5)- no chips, cracks or restoration. 24cm (9.5 inches) diameter.

A rare Chinese scroll-shaped porcelain ink block rest or stand (with fitted box) attractively painted with famille rose enamels. This item was made for the scholar's table during the reign of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795). Condition - good - there are three chips to the top right scroll end (see enlargement 7); no cracks and no restoration. 8.9cm (3.5 inches) long; 4.5cm (1.75 inches) wide; 1.5cm (0.6 inches)high.

18世纪粉彩人物墨床 清乾隆
一件卷轴形粉彩瓷墨床，带配套锦盒。为清乾隆时期的文房用具。
品相：良好。右上角有三处小磕（见图7），无冲缝，无修复。长8.9厘米，宽4.5厘米，高1.5厘米。

A finely moulded porcelain bowl made circa 1700-1722 during the reign of the Kangxi emperor. On the base is a drawing of an archaic bronze wine vessel - Jue - within a double circle. Condition - there are three rim chips, the largest with associated hairline (please see enlargements 7 and 9 ); there are minor glaze imperfections and a patch of discoloration to the inside (also visible in enlargement 9 ). 6cm(2.3 inches) high; 11cm (4.3 inches) diameter.

18世纪早期模制青花碗-康熙

A finely engraved Paktong (nickel silver) belt, possibly made by Straits Chinese craftsmen circa 1880 - 1920. Condition - excellent. 76cm (30 inches)long.

A small 18th Century blue and white tureen base made for export in Jingdezhen, southern China, circa 1750 during the reign of the Qianlong emperor. Condition - the cover is lacking and there is an under rim chip (please see enlargement no. 4); no cracks and no restoration. 19cm (7.5 inches)long; 5.5cm (2.5 inches high.

A blue and white porcelain dish depicting two confronting five clawed dragons amongst clouds and flames. This item was made in Jingdezhen, south China during the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). Condition - good - there are rim chips but no cracks and no restoration. 9.4 inches (24cm) diameter.

清光绪 19世纪晚期青花龙纹盘
一件青花二龙戏珠盘，景德镇窑口，约作于清光绪年间。
品相：良好。有毛口，但无冲缝，无修复。直径24厘米。

A large late Ming dynasty blue and white "Kraak" porcelain dish. The central star-shaped panel is decorated with flowering plants and a grasshopper or cricket on rockwork. The moulded sides are painted with alternating vertical panels of stylized peaches and buddhistic symbols. This item was made in China for export to Europe during the reign of the Wanli emperor (1573-1619). Condition - there are two hairline cracks running from the rim (please see enlargements 4,5,6 and 8) and there is slight rim fritting. There is no restoration. 29cm (11.4inches) diameter.

晚明“克拉克”型青花瓷盘-万历
晚明大款“克拉克”风格青花瓷盘。盘中央饰星形开光花草蟋蟀纹，盘边沿饰长条形开光桃纹及佛家信物。此品为万历时期（1573-1619）出口欧洲的外销瓷。
品相：盘沿有两条细裂纹（见图4，图5，图6及图8）及轻微毛口，但无修复。盘直径29cm。

A fine and rare Blanc de Chine vase in archaistic Gu form made in the Dehua kilns, Fujian province, South China. The finely crackled creamy white glaze is incised vertically with stylized plantain leaves and the waist with three buddhist symbols. The base carries the four character seal mark of the Chenghua emperor but this item was made later, during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722). Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration. 23cm (9 inches) high.

A rare finely decorated 'ogee' shaped 'famille rose' bowl. This item carries the iron red seal mark of the Tongzhi Emperor (1862-1874) and was made during his reign (1862-1874). There is wear to the gilding on the rim. No damages and no restoration. 2.3 inches (5.7cm) High 5.3 inches (13.8cm) Diameter.

A wedding plate finely painted with "famille rose" enamels against a pale green 'celadon' ground. The border is richly decorated with lotus, peony flowers, birds, insects, good luck symbols and auspicious objects. This item was made in China for export during the reign of either the Jiaqing or Daoguang emperors - probably circa 1800-1830.)Condition - there is a chip and associated 0.5 cm hairline to the rim and there is minor wear to the enamels. 7.75 inches(19.7cm) diameter.

A larger than average Chinese porcelain teapot (with matched cover) decorated in European taste with "famille rose" enamels and made for export,circa 1760-1770. Condition - there is substantial wear to the enamels and gilding but no chips, cracks or restoration. 8 inches (20cm) long;6 inches (15cm)high.

一件大件外销粉彩人物茶壶带盖，约作于1760-1770年间。

A large Ming dynasty style square form vase (Fang Hu), with abstracted 'dragon' handles. The vase is decorated in under glaze cobalt blue with "heaped and piled" effect. Alternating bands of stylized floral scrolls are interspersed with bands of lappets, plantain leaves and chilong dragons with shou (long life) signs and at the rim with a key fret border. This item was made in the mid 18th Century during the reign of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795). Condition - the vase has been broken and has been restored to British National Museum Standard using Conservation Grade materials and techniques. 38.5cm (15inches) high.

This item was made for export to Europe during the reign of the Yongzheng emperor (1723-1795). Condition - rim chips and cracks have been professionally restored. 2.6inches (8.5cm) high.

A rare and very finely carved gourd container with ivory cover, illustrated and inscribed with the "Peach Blossom Poem" from the famous story "Hong Lou Meng" (the "Dream of the Red Chamber"), dated - "made in the tenth month of the twenty-second year of the Guanxu" - 1897. The cover depicts a dragon amongst clouds in pursuit of a flaming pearl and is signed - "carved by Lu Shu Yi". Condition - there is a stabilized body crack to the gourd - no other damages and no losses. 5cm (2 inches)high; 7cm(2.75 inches)across. Please note - because this item has an ivory cover purchasers from outside the European Union will require a CITES Certificate and may also require import documentation within their own country.

清光绪 约1897年 精美葫芦雕带象牙雕盖
一件稀有精美葫芦雕诗画盒带象牙雕盖，葫芦身雕有《桃花行》诗句和红楼梦场景，底部刻有年份——“大清光绪二十二年十月间作”。象牙盖刻有穿云龙赶珠纹，并有署名“吕叔宜刻”字样。
品相：葫芦身有一细裂缝，已经过固定处理。无其他损伤或缺失。高5厘米，宽7厘米。

A good early 18th Century bowl decorated in underglaze blue on the inside with a river landscape and with a prunus pattern border. The outside is decorated with floral panels against a powder blue ground. This item was made during the reign of the Kangxi Emperor (1662-1722). There is "fritting" and there are small chips to the rim; but there are no cracks and there has been no restoration.19cm (7.4 inches)diameter,3.7 inches (9.5cm) high inches (19cm).

A small, simply decorated, blue and white vase probably made for export during the reign of the Wanli emperor (1572-1620). Condition - excellent. No damages and no restoration. 11cm (4.3 inches} high.

A large vibrantly decorated fencai / "famille rose" enamelled vase made for export during the latter part of the reign of the Daoguang emperor (1821-1850). Condition - there are faint, barely visible, body cracks and there is wear and some losses to the enamels but there are no chips or cracks to the rim and base and there has been no restoration. 64cm (25 inches) high.

A large and very rare lead glazed earthenware roof ridge tile sculpture depicting a civil official riding a celestial horse with flaring nostrils,bulging eyes and flowing mane. This item was made in Shanxi province, northern China, during the Ming dynasty (1368 - 1644). There is a very closely related example on display in the Victoria and Albert Museum in the Architectural section of the new ceramics display on the 5th Floor (No.2) - Museum no. C.13,14 - 1910. (We acquired this item in early 2004 from the same collection as item no. 342 in our catalog). Condition - there are firing cracks (please see enlargement no.6), chips and some minor very old repairs (additional pictures supplied on request). Height - 17.5 inches (44.5cm); 14.5 inches (37cm)long.

明代 精美稀有神官天马屋脊大砖
一件陶制三彩神官天马屋脊砖。作于明代山西省。在伦敦维多利亚与阿伯特博物馆五楼陶瓷馆建筑陶瓷部分，有一件与此非常相似的展品（博物馆陈列号C13,14 - 1910）。我们于2004年初将此件与本店第342号藏品一起购进。

A very finely painted porcelain plaque - "Wu Song Da Hu" painted in the style of Liu Ji You - illustrating one of the stories from "The Water Margin" depicting the famous scene where the folk hero Wu Song kills the tiger which has been terrorizing the local population. The painting carries a cyclical dating for Spring 1979. Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration. 37cm (14.5inches) x 24.5cm(9.7inches) including wood frame.

A rare carved boxwood figure of a barefoot peasant girl holding a scythe and a sheaf of corn made in China, circa 1968 to 1970, during the Cultural Revolution period. Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration. 15cm (6 inches) high.

A small Yixing zisha ('purple clay') teapot with enameled decoration depicting prunus blossom on one side and a dragonfly amongst lotus flowers on the other. The base carries the name Meng Chen. This item was probably made, circa 1920 - 1940, during the Republic period. Condition - very good - no damages and no restoration. 11cm (4.1 inches)long; 7cm (2.75 inches)high.

A rare pair of qianjiang dishes painted and signed by Zhang Ziying (also known as Zhang Yun) who was associated with the imperial kiln during the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875 - 1908). Both carry poems which translate "fortune and luck for life). Condition - three 5cm hairlines to rim of first dish (see enlargement 6 for two); base crack ( see enlargement 9) and two light 3cm hairlines to second dish. Both have small rim chips and there is wear to the gilding. 23.5cm (9.25 inches) diameter.

清光绪 浅绛彩花鸟纹富贵白头对盘 张子英作
一件浅绛名家张子英作花鸟纹富贵白头对盘。张子英，又名张少云，光绪年间御窑厂名画师，曾任督窑官。
品相：其中一只瓷盘口沿有三处5厘米的冲缝（见图6），底部有裂缝（见图9）；另一只有两处3厘米长的冲缝。两只瓷盘上都有磕口，镀金有磨损。直径23.5厘米。

An early 18th Century oval shaped meat plate decorated in underglaze blue depicting a lady and a boy in a garden landscape with a duck in a lotus pond. The base is unglazed. This item was made in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province, southern China for export to Europe (circa 1730 - 1750) during the reign of either the Yongzheng or the Qianlong emperor. Condition - Excellent. 32.5cm (12.8 inches) across; 3.8cm (1.5 inches) deep.
