A rare dedicated souvenir "Turban Shell" (Latin: Turbo Marmoratus) hand engraved, onboard ship, "with a penknife" by C H Wood. This presentation piece was commisioned by the ship's Chief Engineer William Driver, for his brother Charles in 1866, to commemorate the laying of the transatlantc telegraph cable. The Great Eastern, designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, was an iron steam sailing ship which, from it's 1858 launch until 1899, was the largest ship ever built. The inscriptions, in addition to the ship's dimensions, read: "A Present from the Gt Eastern (Lying in the River Mersey)." "To Charles Driver from his brother William" "As a gratifying remembrance of laying the submarine Telegraph Cable of 1866 from England and America, and recovering the last Cable of 1865. And with triumphant success accomplished the laying of that also" "J Anderson Commander" (Sir James Anderson was Captain of the Great Eastern from 1865 to 1866) "W Driver Chief Engineer S crew" signed Eng "With a penknife by C Wood. Condition: very good. There is a crack to the inside of the mouth which, for the most part, is not visible on the outside. A rare pair of Pearlware pottery figures depicting Venus and Neptune made in Staffordshire during either the late 18th or very early 19th Century. A similar pair of figures are illustrated in "The price Guide to 18th Century English Pottery" by Sally Mount, published by the Antique Collectors' Club (1972). Condition: there are some losses to the enamel colours; no cracks, no repairs and no restoration. 23.5cm (9.25 inches) high.

A rare pair of apple green glazed candle holders designed by William Howson Taylor and made at the Ruskin Pottery works in Smethwick, near Birmingham, West Midlands, UK. A rare porcelain tea bowl and saucer painted with the "bird on the branch" pattern in under glaze blue and decorated with over glaze iron red and gold in imitation of "Chinese Imari" style. This item was made in the Shaws Brow factory of the Liverpool company, Philip Christian, circa 1765-1778. Condition: excellent - no chips or cracks and very little wear to the over glaze decoration. Bowl: 4.5cm (1.75 inches) high; 8.5cm (3.3 inches) diameter. Saucer: 13cm (5.1 inches) diameter.

A wheel thrown transfer printed and hand painted double-handled "Loving" Chamber Pot made as a novelty wedding gift "Marrige Present", circa 1840, in either Sunderland or Staffordshire. Condition : there is a re-glued old break to one handle; and there is a curved crack to the rim on the underside which is less shorter on the upper side and does not reach the rim (please view enlargements 6 & 7); no further damages and no restoration. 21.5cm (8.5 inches) diameter; 13cm (5.2 inches) high. A commemorative plaque carved with oak from the barque (three masted sailing ship) the Mary Moore which operated as a tea clipper until the end of the 19th Century. The Mary Moore was built by Stephen & Sons (Glasgow) in 1868 and was registered in Maryport, Cumberland, North West England. In 1887 she was re-fitted and her hull was clad with metal. It was presumably at this time that the plaque was crafted. Condition: it has split in two, possibly in the 19th century and is held togethet with an old staple repairs. 33cm (13 inches) diameter.

A small, possibly unique, hand painted pitch pine Arts and Crafts style plaque . It is painted in 19th Century 'Romantic' style depicting a red sun framed with turquoise fruiting pomegranate branches and containing an intense, passionate poem or 'prayer'to the sun. This item was probably created in the last quarter of the 19th Century, circa 1875-1900. A rare pair of Rambervillers Ceramique stoneware vases with characteristic thick metallic lustre glaze and mounted on fitted gilt bronze stands. These items were probably made shorly after the establishment of the Rambervillers pottery, circa 1905-1910, and bear the incised signature of its founder Alphonse Cytere. A hand-painted moulded earthenware (religious subject) wall plaque with "majolica" glaze, made in the style of the 15th century Italian sculptor and ceramicist Lucia della Robbia. This item was made in Italy during the 19th Century and bears an old shop sticker and an under glaze blue signature on the back. Condition: Very minor glaze loss to the nose of one angel and to the caps of both - otherwise in extremelly good condition with nochips cracks or restoration. 36.4cm (14.3inches) wide; 22.8cm (9inches) high; 2.4cm (1inch) deep.

A rare 18th Century Liverpool porcelain teapot finely painted with Chinese style "Famille Rose" polychrome enamels. This item was made, circa 1760-1770, by one of two Liverpool makers - either Richard Chaffers & Co (1754-1765) or Phillip Christian (1765-1778) - who consecutively occupied the same factory on Shaws Brow. A blown moulded Art Nouveau green Loetz glass vase with 'Cherry Sprig' pewter mounts, probably designed by Frederich Adler, and made by Orion Pewter, Nuremberg, Germany circa 1905. A similar vase is illustrated in "20th Century Pewter" by Paul Carter Robinson (2012) ISBN 978 1 85149 6150. Condition: there are some very small surface nicks to the glass and slight bumps to the pewter; no cracks, losses or repairs. 10cm (4 inches) high; 11cm (4.3inches) across.
