A sepik river, Papua New Guinea mask consisting of the carapace of a tortoise decorated with cowrie shells, boars tusks and bird of paradise feathers. This item was probably made during the 1970s. Condition - very good - no losses. 9 inches (23cm) High x 7 inches (18cm) wide - excluding feathers.

A good Australian Aboriginal bark painting of a spirit figure. This item was acquired 'second hand' in the UK in the 1990s and was probably painted during the 1980s. Condition there is wear and losses to the paint. 16 inches (41cm) high, 9.5 inches (24cm) wide.

A small delicately enamelled bottle vase painted in 18th Century Qianlong style. The base carries the four character mark of the Qianlong emperor (1736 - 1795) but this item was probably made during the 1930s in the Republic period. Condition - there is an old glued repair to the neck. 10cm (3.9 inches) high

A large papier mache lacquered plaque or tray made for export or sale to foreigners during the early 20th Century. This raised relief design incorporating the "Satsuma cross" motif is very common on low grade tea and coffee sets made in vast quantities for export during the 1920s and 1930s. It is unusual to see this brocade style pattern depicted in this medium. Condition - good. There are two old screw holes in the back, age related "crazing" to the surface, substantial wear to the rim and there is an old repair to the bottom edge ( please see enlargement 2) there has been no restoration. 15.5 inches (39cm) diameter.

萨摩烧风格人物漆盘 约1900-1940

A small Yixing zisha ('purple clay') teapot with enameled decoration depicting prunus blossom on one side and a dragonfly amongst lotus flowers on the other. The base carries the name Meng Chen. This item was probably made, circa 1920 - 1940, during the Republic period. Condition - very good - no damages and no restoration. 11cm (4.1 inches)long; 7cm (2.75 inches)high.

A rare carved boxwood figure of a barefoot peasant girl holding a scythe and a sheaf of corn made in China, circa 1968 to 1970, during the Cultural Revolution period. Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration. 15cm (6 inches) high.

A very finely painted porcelain plaque - "Wu Song Da Hu" painted in the style of Liu Ji You - illustrating one of the stories from "The Water Margin" depicting the famous scene where the folk hero Wu Song kills the tiger which has been terrorizing the local population. The painting carries a cyclical dating for Spring 1979. Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration. 37cm (14.5inches) x 24.5cm(9.7inches) including wood frame.

A Chinese porcelain censer with cover brightly painted in late 18th Century Qianlong/Jiaqing style. The base carries the four character iron red reign mark of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795) but this item was made later during either the 19th or 20th Century. Condition - very good - there are two minor breaks to the ribbon surrounding the "lion" on the cover (please see enlargement 4) - no further damages and no restoration.

19/20世纪 18世纪晚期风格粉彩香炉 乾隆款

A very finely painted fencai/famille rose enamelled teapot.The poem on the reverse side reads - "fang sheng chi jia; xiang qin xiu pi" which can be translated - "Fragrance (of tea)formed between teeth and cheeks; the scent (of the tea) deeply affects heart and spleen (refreshes one deeply)". It is signed "nie xing she zou" - "made by Nie Xing Sheng" (b.1909; d.1981) - active 1916-1981. The base mark reads Jiang Xi Mei Shu Ci Chang - "Jiangxi Art Porcelain Factory". This item was made during the Republic Period (1912-1949), probably circa 1945. Condition - excellent - no wear, damage or restoration. 15cm (6 inches) long; 8.5cm (3.3 inches) high.

A well painted enamel on copper playing card box made in China circa 1900-1940, probably during the Republic period. Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration. 10cm (4inches) long; 7.2cm (2.8inches) wide; 3cm (1.15inches) high.

A rare Cultural Revolution era wood carving depicting a girl dancer holding a lantern, probably from a People's Liberation Army Ballet or possibly from a Beijing Opera performance of the same period, circa 1966-1976. Condition - the lantern handle has been broken and there is a piece missing; no further damage and no restoration. 21.5cm (8.5 inches) high.

A rare wood carving of a dancing girl with arm raised holding a tambourine. This item was made in China, circa 1966-1976, during the Cultural Revolution period. Condition - the tambourine has been broken - no further damage or restoration. 18.5cm (7.25 inches) high.

A set of four wine cups individually painted in traditional Chinese landscape style and each bearing the verse "Xin Kuan Wang Di Zhia" which translates directly as "Heart Broad Forget Ground Narrow". The bases carry the iron red four character reign mark of the Hongxian 'emperor' (1916) but these items were probably made later, during the Republic Period, circa 1917-1949. Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration. 4.5cm (1.75 inches) high; 6.3cm (2.3 inches) diameter.

四件一组的粉彩山水酒盅，上书“心宽忘地窄”。底有红色“洪宪年制”四字款，但为后世民国约1917-1949年所做。
品相：完好。无损伤，无修复。高4.5厘米，直径6.3厘米。

A small Paktong Ink Box made in China during the Republic period (1912-1949) or earlier. The copper base bears a maker's or retailer's mark which, unfortunately, is too worn for us to read. Condition - wear to the base, consistent with many years of use, otherwise very good. 4.4cm (1.75ins) long; 3.2cm (1.25ins) wide; 2cm (0.8ins) deep.

A finely carved Striped Ebony (Diospyros ebenum) bust of a lady made in Bali circa 1930-1960. Condition - excellent - no damages and no repairs. 26cm (10.2inches) high; 16cm (6.25inches) wide. Weight 1.6kg.

A thickly potted heavy dish profusely decorated in early 19th Century style with Famille Rose enamels. This item was made in China in the early 20th Century , possibly for the Malaysian market, during the Republic period (1912-1949). Condition - very good - there is wear to the gilding but no chips, cracks or restoration. 28.8cm (11.4inches) diameter; weight 1.2kg (2lbs11oz).

A large carved hardwood bust of a dancer in traditional costume, signed Klung Kung, and made in Bali during the first half of the 20th Century, circa 1920 to 1950. Height 36cm (14inches); weight 2.5kg (5.5lb).

A small Paktong Ink Box with engraved landscape decoration, made in China during the Republic period (1912-1949) or earlier. The copper base bears a shop or retailer's mark which reads "Yong Fa Chang". Condition - there are small surface bumps and marks (please view enlargements) and there is wear to the base. 4.4cm (1.75ins) square; 2.4cm (0.9ins) deep.
