A cream coloured glazed dish of plain and refined form, from the Dingyao kilns, Hebei in Northern China. 11th to 12th century. From a short foot-rim, the cavetto gently rises to a flat, unglazed , rim.
It is unusual to find an undecorated Dingyao dish. It has been postulated (Regina Krahl, Chinese ceramics from the Meiyintang collection) that such dishes may have been decorated with gilding.
Dimensions: 22 cm diameter.
