Collingwood Bay lime Spatula, PNG. Wood, height 15 1/4", 19th century. Beautifully patinated with traces of lime. One ancient loss to upper corner. Field collected by Michael Hamson, Gavide Village. Quoting from Michael Hamson, "The owner told me his grandfather carried this spatula with him whenever he went to new villages on long trading voyages. The spatula was considered good luck, it brought happiness and made new friends."
